Shipping & Receiving Clerk | Warren, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Shipping & Receiving Clerk opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Warren in Macomb County, within about 30 minutes of the city, including Sterling Heights, Madison Heights, Royal Oak, and Roseville.

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing firms in the Warren area that seek skilled Shipping & Receiving Clerks. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and look for professionals who can contribute effectively. Usual Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with production and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify counts against packing slips.
  • Unload and load trucks using a forklift or pallet jack.
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage and report discrepancies.
  • Record received goods in the inventory system and apply labels.
  • Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders for shipment.
  • Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading and packing lists.
  • Keep the dock and warehouse areas clean and organized.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills for inventory and shipping systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail for accurate counts and documentation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior warehouse or shipping and receiving experience.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Valid driver license for yard moves or local deliveries.
  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management software.
  • Knowledge of DOT and carrier shipping requirements.
  • Hazmat handling training.
