Salary Range: $47,000 - $69,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Shipping & Receiving Lead opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County, within about 30 minutes of the city, including Whitmore Lake, Ypsilanti, Saline, and Belleville.

The Opportunity

We work with companies in the Ann Arbor area that add Shipping & Receiving Leads to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. By connecting with us, you position yourself for opportunities that align with what you're looking for.

Usual Responsibilities

  • Resolve shipment errors, carrier delays, and inventory discrepancies with purchasing and production.
  • Train new team members on loading, paperwork, and safety procedures.
  • Open the shipping area and review the day's outbound orders and inbound deliveries.
  • Assign work to shipping and receiving staff and confirm coverage for each shift.
  • Check incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders and note shortages or damage.
  • Prepare outbound shipments with correct labels, paperwork, and loading plans.
  • Load and unload trucks and verify counts with drivers before signing off.
  • Enter receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments in the warehouse system.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Ability to read packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders accurately.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience on a small team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse work in a manufacturing setting.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift safely.
  • Experience with shipping software and inventory systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lean or 5S practices in a warehouse.
  • CDL or experience moving trailers in a yard.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning and RF equipment.
  • OSHA forklift trainer certification.
  • Experience with international shipping documents and customs paperwork.
