Staff Accountant | Ironwood, MI

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Staff Accountant opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Ironwood in Gogebic County, within about 45 minutes of the city.

The Opportunity

We partner with organizations in the Ironwood area that seek Staff Accountants. These companies are committed to building strong teams and look for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Usual Responsibilities

  • Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month end close.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold analysis.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • CPA or CMA certification or progress toward certification.
