The Salvation Army Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. SUMMARY: Coordinate and complete tasks related to the Adopt A Family program, provide assistance to sponsors and respond to client’s request and needs for Christmas assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide the public with information regarding Salvation Army Christmas assistance programs.
  • The ability to a be self-starter and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Be knowledgeable about holiday assistance in the metro area and make referrals as needed.
  • Complete and approve online Christmas applications.
  • Display professionalism when working with clients on the phone and in person.
  • Schedule appointments and complete in person Christmas applications.
  • Ensure that all applications are accurate and entered in a timely manner.
  • Return all phone calls from clients regarding the Christmas assistance programs.
  • Perform any other duties assigned duties by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must have good customer service and data entry skills with the ability to type 45 words per minute.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have High Diploma or GED and a minimum of three to six months related experience and/or training in customer service and data entry.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is a business office setting with office equipment, light traffic and moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

* Christmas positions are temporary, up to 90 days, and are not entitled to benefits. Hours of work may vary and are not guaranteed.

* All Christmas positions have expectations that must be met in order to qualify for work assignments and ongoing temporary employment. This includes expectations in donations received. * The Salvation Army, as a church, is exempt from participation in federal and state unemployment insurance programs. Upon termination, employees are not eligible for Unemployment Compensation. * The Salvation Army work sites are Drug & Alcohol Free Workplaces, and are totally free of the use, possession or working under the influence of the illegal drugs and alcohol.
