This position plans and assigns work, develops employees, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, manages vendors and materials, and ensures facilities remain safe, reliable, clean, and ready to support operations. The supervisor promotes accountability, regulatory compliance, timely service, cost control, and continuous improvement.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Supervise, coach, schedule, and evaluate employees assigned to building maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial services, dock levelers, and roll-up doors.
  • Plan daily and weekly work, set priorities, assign labor and resources, and communicate expectations based on operational needs.
  • Review work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, inspection findings, and service requests; confirm accurate documentation and timely completion.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of buildings, offices, warehouses, restrooms, roofs, walls, floors, lighting, plumbing, and other facility systems within the team’s scope.
  • Maintain site grounds, including landscaping, irrigation, parking areas, walkways, fencing, drainage, exterior lighting, and general appearance.
  • Direct custodial operations to maintain clean and sanitary offices, common areas, restrooms, breakrooms, production-support areas, and exterior spaces.
  • Coordinate inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of dock levelers, vehicle restraints, dock seals, roll-up doors, and related safety devices.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections, identify hazards or deficiencies, initiate corrective action, and escalate significant risks or capital needs.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with company policies, manufacturer requirements, permits, environmental standards, and applicable OSHA, fire, building, and safety requirements.
  • Lead pre-job planning, job hazard reviews, lockout/tagout coordination, contractor safety expectations, and other required safe-work practices.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors, including scheduling, scope review, site access, work quality, documentation, and verification of completed services.
  • Monitor labor, overtime, materials, service costs, and budget performance; identify opportunities to improve reliability and control expenses.
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of tools, parts, cleaning supplies, and safety equipment, and submit purchase requests as needed.
  • Respond to facility emergencies and after-hours calls, coordinate temporary controls, and support restoration of safe operations.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Quality, Security, and other departments to plan repairs, shutdowns, projects, audits, and site improvements.
  • Track team performance, recurring failures, inspection results, and work-order trends; implement corrective actions and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties and support special projects as assigned

Pay Range: $90,000 - $95,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Shift Schedule: This shift is scheduled from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM but can change due to business needs.

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or technical training in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Three or more years of facility, industrial, or commercial maintenance experience, including at least one year in a lead or supervisory role. Experience overseeing custodial and groundskeeping services and maintaining dock equipment and roll-up doors is preferred.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid driver’s license required. Relevant safety, equipment, trade, or facilities-management certifications are preferred. Must complete company-required training and maintain any certifications required for assigned duties.
  • Professional Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead multiple work groups, set priorities, coach employees, resolve problems, and communicate clearly with employees, managers, vendors, and contractors. Working knowledge of preventive maintenance, work-order systems, basic budgeting, vendor coordination, and safe-work practices. Ability to read equipment manuals, drawings, inspection reports, and written procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems is preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
