Job Description

This is a fully onsite role based at our Global Central Laboratory in Highland Heights, KY. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position, and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate.

The Medical Technologist II performs analysis and evaluates individual and related laboratory data, recognizes patterns or trends that suggest significance of results and determines the level of clinical significance. What You'll Do: • Perform, review, and interpret complex, esoteric, and routine chemical, hematological, coagulation, renal, lipid, and hormonal analyses by manual, automated, and/or microscopic methods. • Integrate analytical results with specific and varied clinical trial protocols to evaluate the credibility, appropriateness, and accuracy of test results in order to facilitate the inclusion or exclusion of subjects from research programs. • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair clinical laboratory equipment, including performing routine preventative maintenance, calibrations, and safety checks. Recognize and resolve instrument problems, independently evaluating and taking appropriate action to ensure accurate patient data when major instrument issues occur. • Evaluate analytical reagents, calibrators, and QC standards to ensure the accuracy of analytical results. • Evaluate quality control procedures and results, and implement corrective actions when indicated. Perform ongoing statistical data analysis to detect trends or problems and undertake corrective action. • Conduct comparison studies for precision, accuracy, and linearity on new or existing assays or instruments. Assist in the design and implementation of new procedures and in the modification of existing methods. • Provide instruction for new employees and students in the theory and practice of laboratory medicine and the interpretation of results.

Education and Experience Requirements: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 2 years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

• Work is performed in a laboratory and/or a clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. • Occasional drives to site locations, occasional domestic travel. • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. • Rare exposure to skin and lung irritants, radiation, toxic materials and hazardous waste. • Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. • Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions
