You’ll be part of a division that pioneered several technologies and join an inquisitive, driven team that shares your passion for customer success!

How will you make an impact?

Enable our customers by leading and developing a product management team responsible for an integrated applied omics portfolio spanning reproductive health, agriculture, and human health. Own the Swift Array Studio platform and instrument portfolio strategy, balancing innovation across genomics and emerging omics modalities with lifecycle priorities, operational performance, and profitable global growth.

What will you do?

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers; establish clear priorities, accountability, and an effective portfolio operating cadence.
  • Develop and own the multi-year applied omics strategy across reproductive health, agricultural, and human applications, encompassing genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and future complementary modalities.
  • Set integrated roadmaps for instruments, software, applications, workflows, and content on the Swift Array Studio platform, making investment trade-offs across omics modalities, market segments, and regions.
  • Own product lifecycle management, including pricing, forecasting, supply and demand, profitability, sustaining programs, cost reduction, capacity, and end-of-life planning.
  • Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, R&D, Finance, and Commercial teams to translate market priorities into executable plans.
  • Evaluate the financial and manufacturing impact of portfolio decisions, including customization, production complexity, cost of goods, capacity, utilization, and absorption.
  • Drive innovation by translating customer needs into new genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic content, applications, workflows, and product capabilities, while identifying opportunities to extend successful solutions across markets.
  • Segment global applied omics markets by application, customer type, modality, and region; identify growth opportunities and define where Thermo Fisher Scientific can win.
  • Assess NGS and other competing or complementary technologies and develop positioning that differentiates the portfolio as genomic and broader omics markets evolve.
  • Lead commercialization and portfolio communication, serving as the product champion with internal teams, customers, and industry opinion leaders.
  • Travel - Domestic and international travel may be required 25% to 50% of the time.

Education

  • A bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in an engineering or scientific field (molecular biology, genetics, bioengineering, biochemistry, or a related discipline preferred) is required.
  • An MBA or advanced scientific degree with biotechnology industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience in genomics or adjacent omics fields and knowledge of microarray and NGS technologies are strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 7+ years of product management experience in life sciences, applied omics, biotechnology, or a related industry, including responsibility for a sophisticated product portfolio.
  • Demonstrated direct people-management experience leading, coaching, and developing product managers or other professional staff.
  • Experience managing lifecycle strategy, pricing, forecasting, supply and demand, profitability, sustaining initiatives, cost reduction, and capacity projects with Operations.
  • Experience leading new product development and commercialization across R&D, Commercial, Finance, and Operations in a highly matrixed, global organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent people leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to align teams around clear portfolio priorities.
  • Strong business acumen and judgment for building strategies and making data-driven trade-offs across products, applications, markets, and regions.
  • Deep understanding of lifecycle management and manufacturing economics, including product cost, capacity, utilization, supply continuity, and factory absorption.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including business cases, forecasts, profitability models, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to dive deeply into product capabilities, manufacturing processes, customer workflows, customization requirements, omics applications, and regional market needs.
  • Strong competitive analysis skills across microarray, NGS, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, software, lab automation, and related life science technologies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
