DESCRIPTION
How you will make an impact:
Lead strategic partnerships and external innovation initiatives that accelerate the development and adoption of next-generation cell culture solutions while expanding divisional long-term growth opportunities.
What you will do:
Strategic Partnerships Leadership:
- Provide executive-level partnership leadership, building and maintaining relationships with leaders across global organizations
- Lead technology scouting initiatives to identify emerging opportunities and influence build-buy-partner decisions
- Support corporate development activities and evaluate potential partnerships
- Manage strategic alliance relationships and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Structure and negotiate complex partnership agreements, licensing deals, and strategic alliance frameworks
- Build and manage a portfolio of external innovation partnerships that deliver measurable value to the organization
- Drive licensing opportunities and strategic alliances that accelerate commercialization of innovation and expand our market position
- Drive network growth measured by number of successful partnerships and adoption of innovation cell culture solutions, and commercial supply agreements
- Conduct rigorous scientific diligence on potential partnerships, technologies, and investment opportunities
- Lead cross-functional teams across R&D, commercial, legal, and operations to evaluate and integrate external innovation
- Influence long-term strategy by translating external market insights and partnership opportunities into actionable business recommendations
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on partnership strategy, market trends, and competitive positioning
- Champion the commercialization of innovation through strategic partnerships and alliance management
REQUIREMENTS
What you will bring:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Life Sciences, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of progressive experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or corporate development within the life sciences or biotech industry
- Proven track record building and managing complex strategic partnerships and alliances
- Demonstrated success commercializing innovation through partnerships and licensing agreements
- Deep expertise in technology scouting, due diligence, and external innovation strategy
- Strong strategic thinking with ability to influence long-term organizational strategy
- Exceptional negotiation skills and executive presence with executive stakeholders
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- Scientific acumen to evaluate technical opportunities and conduct scientific diligence
- Track record of translating partnerships into measurable business outcomes and competitive advantage
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success driving revenue growth through partnerships
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 30%)
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00–$289,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
