Help move products that make a difference.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, the work we do matters. Our teams help enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer—from supporting life-changing research and the development of new therapies to helping protect the environment and improve the safety of our food.

As a Transportation Coordinator II in Rochester, NY, you’ll play an important role in that Mission by helping ensure Thermo Fisher Scientific products reach customers around the world safely, accurately and on time.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll coordinate outbound domestic and international shipments and help manage the details that keep products moving smoothly across borders. You’ll work with customers, internal teams, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and other logistics partners to resolve issues and deliver a high-quality customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate outbound shipments from order receipt through delivery, with a focus on accuracy, quality and on-time execution.
  • Prepare and review international shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices and bills of lading.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve shipping and documentation questions or discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate shipment and order information in SAP.
  • Partner with freight forwarders, customs brokers, airlines, vendors and other transportation providers.
  • Support compliance with applicable import/export requirements and internal procedures.
  • Identify and help resolve shipment issues, using sound judgment to keep orders moving and customers informed.
  • Manage multiple priorities and a high volume of email and shipment-related communications in a fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented and comfortable coordinating multiple priorities while working with customers and business partners.

Minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, shipping or a related environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a moderate- to high-noise environment.

Experience that will help you succeed:

  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
  • Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Familiarity with international shipping and import/export processes.
  • Knowledge of export compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Hazmat/Dangerous Goods shipping.
  • Previous logistics, distribution or transportation experience.

Additional Employment Requirements

  • Thermo Fisher Scientific is not able to provide employment sponsorship for this position. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.

Why Join Thermo Fisher Scientific?

This is an opportunity to build your logistics and international transportation experience while working for a global organization with a meaningful Mission. You’ll collaborate with colleagues and logistics partners across the supply chain, develop valuable experience with international shipping processes, and contribute directly to getting important products into the hands of customers who need them.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll be part of a team that values quality, collaboration and continuous improvement—and you’ll have access to resources designed to help you develop your skills and pursue your career goals.

Join us in Rochester and help us make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
