Job Description

Global Sales Executive, Innovation Unit, Thomson Reuters Foundation

Location: Philippines

The Thomson Reuters Foundation is the corporate foundation of Thomson Reuters, the global AI and technology company. As an independent charity, registered in the UK, Ireland and the USA, we leverage our media, legal and data-driven expertise to foster free, fair and informed societies by strengthening information integrity, protecting civil society, and advancing fair work and responsible AI.

Are you a commercially driven sales professional who can turn complex expertise into compelling client solutions and sustainable revenue? We are seeking an experienced Global Sales Executive to build a strong pipeline, convert opportunities and grow long-term client and partner relationships across the Foundation’s portfolio of products, services and partnerships. You will inherit an established training service portfolio of clients and offerings and will be expected to keep up to speed with new offerings and bring them to new and existing clients.

Based in the Philippines and reporting to the Enterprise Lead (UK based), you will sit within the Enterprise Hub of the Innovation Unit and work closely with colleagues across marketing, product development, delivery, communications and Thomson Reuters. You will lead sales activity across a portfolio spanning responsible business, independent media, access to law and responsible technology, developing trusted client relationships and commercially sound opportunities while upholding the Reuters Trust Principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opportunity generation and qualification: Identify, develop and qualify new business opportunities across priority markets, audience segments and channels, building a healthy pipeline aligned with the Enterprise Hub’s product strategy and income targets.
  • Client relationship management: Build trusted relationships with prospective and existing clients, understand their needs and decision-making processes, and work with internal experts to shape relevant, mission-aligned solutions.
  • Proposals and commercial negotiations: Lead the development of high-quality proposals, pitches and commercial offers; coordinate internal inputs; and negotiate scope, pricing and terms through to contract, in line with agreed approvals and policies.
  • Revenue forecasting and pipeline management: Maintain accurate and timely opportunity data, sales plans and revenue forecasts; monitor conversion, sales cycles and risks; and provide clear reporting and insight to support commercial decision-making.
  • Key accounts and renewals: Develop and execute account plans for priority clients, coordinate effective handover and ongoing engagement, identify opportunities for growth, and lead renewal activity to strengthen retention and lifetime value.
  • Partnerships and channels: Identify and develop strategic partnerships and routes to market that extend reach, create mutual value and accelerate income growth.
  • Commercial sponsorship: Identify, develop and convert commercial sponsorship opportunities for the Foundation’s products and events, shaping compelling packages, coordinating internal inputs and securing agreements that deliver mutual value and support income growth.
  • Cross-functional delivery and governance: Work closely with marketing, product and delivery colleagues to align demand generation, proposition development and client delivery; maintain accurate customer relationship management records; and ensure all sales activity is ethical, brand-consistent and compliant with the Reuters Trust Principles.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Substantial business development or sales experience, including responsibility for generating opportunities, managing a pipeline and delivering measurable revenue outcomes.
  • Business-to-business sales: Experience selling products, services or partnerships to business or institutional audiences and working effectively with colleagues responsible for marketing, products, delivery and finance.
  • Consultative selling: Ability to understand complex client needs, translate expertise into compelling solutions and communicate value clearly to senior decision-makers.
  • Proposals and negotiation: Demonstrated experience leading proposals, pitches and commercial negotiations, with sound judgement on scope, pricing, risk and contracting.
  • Account management: Experience managing strategic client relationships, renewals and growth opportunities, with a strong focus on service quality and long-term value.
  • Forecasting and analysis: Strong discipline in pipeline management, revenue forecasting and performance reporting, with the ability to use evidence to prioritise action and improve conversion.
  • Project and stakeholder management: Ability to coordinate contributors, manage competing priorities and deliver autonomously across functions, cultures and time zones.
  • Core competencies: Commercial awareness, relationship-building, resilience, sound judgement, responsible sales practice and a clear commitment to the Foundation’s mission and the Reuters Trust Principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Systems experience: Experience using customer relationship management, sales pipeline or revenue forecasting systems.
  • Commercialisation: Experience commercialising an existing programme, capability or intellectual asset and contributing market insight to proposition, pricing and packaging decisions.
  • Offer and sector knowledge: Experience selling research, data products, events, advisory services or learning offers, or exposure to professional services, training, technology, media, legal services, responsible business or philanthropy.
  • Partnership development: Experience developing channel, referral or strategic partnerships that create shared value and expand market reach.
  • Languages: Working proficiency in English.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
