The Opportunity
Organizations are rethinking how they operate, use technology, develop people, and get work done. These challenges rarely fit within a single discipline. They require consultants who can make sense of complexity, ask thoughtful questions, connect ideas, and help turn strategy into action.
TiER1 Performance is hiring a small cohort of early-career Transformation Consultants. We care less about whether your background is in change, learning, creative, technology, communications, organizational effectiveness, or another specific field. We care more about how you think, learn and contribute.
You will work on real client challenges from the beginning, learn within a peer cohort, and build breadth across organizational transformation while deepening an area of expertise.
What You Might Do
- Gather and make sense of information from interviews, research, surveys, client materials, and organizational data.
- Identify patterns, root causes, relationships, and systemic influences.
- Help teams frame ambiguous problems, clarify desired outcomes, and determine what needs to be learned.
- Contribute to transformation strategies, assessments, operating models, change efforts, learning strategies, technology adoption, and other integrated solutions.
- Participate in client conversations and working sessions, turning complex information into clear insights, recommendations, and deliverables.
- Use AI and collaborate across disciplines to strengthen the work, while applying sound judgment, protecting client information, managing commitments, and following through.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for high-potential colleagues, not polished consultants. Strong candidates will display:
- A genuine interest in consulting
- Curiosity and learning agility
- Systems thinking
- AI fluency and judgment
- Clear communication
- A bias toward useful work
- Depth plus breadth
- Collaborative ownership
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or graduate degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Approximately 0-4 years of professional experience. internships, co-ops, research, graduate assistantships, fellowships, and substantial project work count.
- Experience making sense of information and turning it into an insight, recommendation, decision, or useful work product.
- Comfort with common business and collaboration tools, along with experience using generative AI or the demonstrated ability and willingness to learn it quickly.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without employer sponsorship, now or anytime in the future.
A consulting background and a specific academic major are not required.
What You Can Expect
- Meaningful work and client exposure, with responsibility increasing as you grow.
- A peer cohort, dedicated mentorship, and regular coaching and feedback.
- Opportunities to work across disciplines, industries, and organizational challenges while building your ability to frame complex problems, form a point of view, and turn insight into action.
- An employee-owned environment that values initiative, accountability, relationships, high performance, value, and fun.

Before you apply
This role will not be a fit for everyone, and that’s okay. Before applying, consider whether the work and expectations described here genuinely match your interests, working style, and goals.
We welcome thoughtful use of AI in preparing your application. We also expect you to engage with the process. Generic responses, placeholders such as “N/A” or “see résumé,” contact information in place of an answer, or responses that don't answer the question will not help us understand your interest in or alignment to the role and may remove your application from consideration.
Finally, please apply directly through our TiER1 job postings, rather than using a third-party job site. Applications submitted elsewhere may come through missing information we need to consider your application.
How to apply
You'll be asked to submit:
- Your résumé.
- A work sample that shows how you think, such as an analysis, presentation, recommendation, research summary, process improvement, design, prototype, or written piece.
- Responses to several open-ended questions, including:
- What makes you want to become a consultant? What experience helped you recognize that this work fits you? When you read about how we describe working at TiER1, what makes you curious? And what gives you pause? Tell us about a project or work experience where things didn't go according to plan. Tell us about what you need from your next job to do your best work. Tell us how AI contributed to your application or work sample, what you did yourself, how you checked the result, and one way AI strengthened your thinking.
We are not looking for one “correct” background or a perfectly polished application. We are looking for evidence of curiosity, judgment, communication, initiative, learning agility, and the potential to grow into a trusted consultant.
We are an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, sex, age, non-disqualifying physical or mental disability, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other basis covered by local law.
