The posting

The Global Regulatory Legal team leads the company's regulatory compliance, engagement, and response work across global markets, partnering with government relations, product, trust and safety, and business teams on digital platform laws, privacy and AI regulation, youth safety rules, competition laws, and government inquiries.

The work sits at the intersection of fast-moving global policy and deeply local legal and political realities. We align the company's position across major precedent-setting regulations while handling market-specific escalations, cross-border investigations, regulator requests, and emerging rules that can change how our products operate in a given country.

You will work directly on the regulatory issues defining the future of digital platforms, building the governance and response strategies that let our products grow responsibly while protecting the company's ability to operate in the markets it serves.

About the Team Our legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and platforms. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide exceptional legal support for TikTok's Antitrust/Competition and Digital Markets Act (DMA) matters.

Responsibilities: - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of antitrust/competition law and principles, and review, interpret, and analyze legal information in the subject matter area. Provide region-specific insights to TikTok's Global Head of Competition in the US. - Manage governmental antitrust/competition-related inquiries including management of outside counsel. - Act as an antitrust/competition advisor to both business and legal colleagues, including on potential investments/acquisitions (including foreign direct investment laws), product guidance, and policies. - Identify and anticipate highly complex antitrust/competition-related legal and policy issues, including monitoring trends, cases, and regulations. Familiarity with digital platform legislation (e.g. DMA, DMCC, etc.) expected. - Assist in the design and implementation of company-wide competition compliance programs and initiatives. Provide internal competition trainings.

Please note: to align with company standard and our continued focus on collaboration, this role will require 5 days in office.

Minimum Qualifications: - Competition law experience in private practice or a corporate law department with a highly regarded firm or organization, preferably with experience in technology. - Candidate needs to be qualified in at least one EU jurisdiction or the UK. - Professional fluency in English is required for global collaboration. - Experience in multi-jurisdictional practice, including dealing directly with the DG Comp, various EU member states, and other non-EU jurisdictions, etc. - Significant experience counseling clients in all aspects of global antitrust law. - Have a highly collaborative approach and strong inter-personal skills. - Have strong communication skills that allow you to interact with a wide variety of individuals and to convey legal issues clearly and simply.

Preferred Qualifications: - Top law firm experience, including representing tech clients, strongly preferred. - Exposure to additional regulators outside of Europe is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
