Tommy Gun's Original Barbershop The Quarry in Cochrane is hiring a Lead Barber / Mentor!

We're looking for a skilled professional who combines strong barbering techniques with excellent guest service and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

As a Lead Barber, you'll help maintain high standards behind the chair while contributing to a welcoming and professional shop environment. This is an opportunity to put your experience to work, support your fellow barbers, and continue growing your career.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll focus on delivering quality grooming services, building guest relationships, and demonstrating the standards expected of a Lead Barber.

Barbering & Guest Experience

  • Welcome guests and conduct thorough consultations to understand their preferences
  • Recommend haircuts and grooming styles based on face shape, personal taste, and hair type
  • Demonstrate advanced technical skills, including clipper cuts, fades, natural necklines, texturizing, and customized styling
  • Deliver professional grooming services with attention to detail
  • Build lasting relationships with guests through consistent, high-quality service
  • Maintain clean grooming stations and properly sterilize tools
  • Educate guests on grooming products and recommend suitable retail options
  • Consistently provide the Tommy Gun's guest experience

Setting a Positive Example

  • Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service
  • Contribute to a supportive, team-focused shop environment
  • Share your knowledge and experience with fellow barbers
  • Help maintain consistent service standards
  • Work collaboratively with teammates and shop leadership

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Barber or Hairstylist who brings confidence, technical ability, and a commitment to quality service.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Journeyperson certification or registered apprenticeship in Barber or Hairstylist
  • Strong technical skills in men's haircuts, fades, and grooming techniques
  • Ability to provide personalized recommendations based on guest preferences
  • Knowledge of current industry trends and styles
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Confidence working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Experience recommending grooming products and educating guests on retail offerings
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the team
