What You'll Do
As an Accounting Professional, you'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the dealership. Your responsibilities will include:
- Process and accurately record daily financial transactions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial and transactional reports for management.
- Review general ledger accounts and prepare correcting entries when necessary.
- Post journal entries in accordance with established company procedures.
- Reconcile cash deposits and accounting schedules and make necessary adjustments.
- Reconcile deposits to the safe and make bank deposits as required.
- Prepare and file applicable PA sales tax, PTA, and VRT tax filings.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
- Help ensure financial reporting is accurate and consistent with applicable accounting principles and company procedures.
- Support managers and departments by providing financial and accounting information as needed.
- Maintain appropriate safeguards for customer and company information.
- Identify and report potential compliance concerns.
- Work within the dealership's DMS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Participate in required training, meetings, and cross-training opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
- Take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is accurate, dependable, organized, and trustworthy—someone who understands that accounting isn't just about numbers; it's about accountability.
Ideal qualifications include:
- Accounting experience preferred.
- Automotive dealership accounting experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn and effectively use dealership management and accounting systems.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
- Commitment to ethical conduct, accountability, and doing the right thing.
