As a trusted partner to the business, you'll work closely with senior stakeholders to assess emerging risks, strengthen controls and drive positive change. You'll play a key role in delivering our annual audit plan, leading complex audits, coaching colleagues and ensuring our work continues to meet the highest professional standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business undergoing significant transformation. You'll gain exposure to strategic business initiatives, contribute to a strong risk and control environment, and help Aegon navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver audit assignments on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Identify risks, control gaps and practical solutions to strengthen the control environment.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide trusted risk and control advice.
  • Support the development and delivery of the annual audit plan.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A strong track record of delivering high-quality audit plans and complex audit engagements in a timely and effective manner.
  • Strong knowledge of financial, regulatory and enterprise risk management frameworks, including PRA, FCA, IFRS and Solvency regulatory requirements.
  • Experience building trusted relationships with stakeholders and providing constructive challenge to drive positive business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor and support the development of colleagues within an audit or risk environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and identify practical, value-adding recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present complex information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across teams, influencing stakeholders at all levels and building credibility quickly.
  • An Internal Audit or Accountancy professional qualification and/or degree is desirable but not essential. Candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

What’s in it for you?

  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 36 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
