The posting

The Role

The Product Manager is responsible for the product vision through to implementation alongside our development teams. They will work with business development teams to identify product-market fit, engage with prospects and customers to deeply understand the problems they have and how we can help solve these problems. They will become the expert on how clients use the product and evangelise their products internally and with clients. They will use client feedback, metrics and research to identify and prioritise opportunities for delivering enhancements and new product ideas.

Based on the wider product strategy and input from commercial and technical teams, the Product Manager will define a long-term vision for the product, convey this to the wider business, and propose new initiatives to grow the value proposition of their products while at the same time making meaningful progress towards their longer term vision for the product or products.

Once the vision is defined; the Product Manager will play a crucial part in product delivery. They will fulfil the product owner role within one or more agile delivery teams, creating a shared understanding of client needs. They will define the priorities and clear acceptance criteria for designing and implementing new features and improvements. They will be responsible for prioritisation and will strive to find the right balance between maintenance, customer requests, and advancing the strategic product roadmap.

The Product Manager will motivate technical teams by being the voice of the customer. They will share client insights, needs, frustrations, successes and failures with the team to inspire a culture of creative problem solving. They will hold themselves and the team accountable for delivering client value and will use excellent communication skills to ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept up-to-date throughout product delivery. Rather than simply adopting a "Clients say they want this so we did it" mindset, they will strategically evaluate how small requests add up to something bigger over time.

Responsibilities

  • Customer engagement: The Product Manager is expected to build client relationships to facilitate idea generation and be the expert on how the clients use the system, understand their requirements and become the voice of the customer internally. They are expected to be proactive in terms of seeking out new relationships and identify customer needs outside of our core customer set.
  • Bring new features to the market: The Product Manager should spend time with clients and internal sales and support teams, providing assistance, engagement and gaining understanding of the products.
  • Internal team engagement: Establish strong cross functional relationships (e.g., Support, Development, QA, Client Management); regularly engage across functions to leverage areas knowledge, facilitate information sharing, and accelerate product delivery.
  • Synthesize and document requirements: Develop high level Epic stories and break those down into detailed user stories. During development of new functionality the PO will work closely with multiple teams, to break down stories and develop acceptance tests to ensure client requirements are successfully captured and implemented.
  • Build client workflows intelligence library: PMs are expected to become specialists and an authoritative source for the rest of the business for the understanding of client workflows. Special emphasis will be placed on effective documentation, dissemination and sharing of this knowledge across the Product team and the rest of the company.
  • Trayport network fluency: Become an expert on the usage of Trayport’s products/network in ‘the wild’ and provide a bridge between customers and Trayport engineering teams regarding workflows, requirements and platform functionality, for existing and components/features in development.
  • Advocacy of the product: Run demos of new and existing functionality, internally and externally, participate in customer facing calls and meetings to gather requirements and present prototypes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
