The posting

Seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join the team in a shop and field-based role. This position plays a critical role in keeping trucks and heavy equipment running reliably, minimizing downtime, and supporting daily operations with high-quality repairs and preventative maintenance.

What You'll Do as the Diesel Engine Mechanic:

  • Maintain and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues across a range of construction equipment
  • Complete preventative maintenance including fluids, filters, and wear components
  • Perform repairs on engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems
  • Inspect equipment regularly and identify issues before breakdowns occur
  • Respond to field breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed
  • Track maintenance schedules and document completed work
  • Collaborate with operators and field teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment

Must-Haves as the Diesel Engine Mechanic:

  • Hands-on experience with diesel engines, trucks, and heavy equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work both in a shop and in field conditions
  • Solid understanding of preventative maintenance practices
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors

Nice-to-Haves as the Diesel Engine Mechanic:

  • Experience with paving or road construction equipment
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
  • CDL or ability to obtain one
