An independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting.

JOB SUMMARY

You will join the Core Web team building new headless front-end. Working with two senior engineers, you will build pages and components for a first launch early next year, in an AI-first workflow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build pages and reusable React/Next.js components for the new front-end

- Turn designs into responsive, accessible UI

- Connect components to headless CMS content and backend APIs

- Write unit and component tests for your work

- Take part in code reviews, planning and estimations

- Deliver well-defined features independently from ticket to merged and tested code, raising blockers and asking questions when needed

- Work AI-first with the enterprise AI tools AP provides, using AI assistants to support coding, refactoring, testing and debugging while reviewing their output critically

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years of front-end engineering experience

- Solid React experience

- Practical Next.js experience in production, including having shipped at least one Next.js project and understanding SSR/SSG and routing basics

- TypeScript

- Consuming REST or GraphQL APIs

- Responsive, accessible UI from design specs

- Experience writing unit and component tests, ideally with Jest and React Testing Library

- Real, regular use of AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude or ChatGPT as part of recent development work

- Headless CMS experience

- Integration testing experience
