WHO WE ARE

At Trustly, we're building a smarter, faster, and more secure financial future by revolutionizing the world of payments. As a global leader in Open Banking Payments, we are establishing Pay by Bank as the new standard at checkout, providing unparalleled freedom, speed, and ease to millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.

Our Ambition: To build the world’s most disruptive payment network and redefine what the payment experience should feel like.

Trustly is a global team of innovators, collaborators, and doers. If you are driven by a strong sense of purpose and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth environment, join us and be part of a team that’s transforming the way the world pays.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Trustly is looking for a motivated and experienced regulatory compliance professional to support the development and day-to-day running of SlimPay's regulatory compliance programme in Paris. SlimPay operates as a licensed payment institution providing account-to-account and recurring payment services across Europe, which places us squarely within a fast-moving and heavily regulated industry. This role is responsible for helping SlimPay hold the right licences, meet its regulatory obligations in every market where it operates, and move efficiently into new markets as they open.

Reporting to the EU/UK Chief Compliance Officer, you will:

- Support the CCO in executing SlimPay's regulatory compliance strategy

- Help obtain and maintain the licences and authorisations required to support the business

- Provide second-line oversight over the key processes on which SlimPay relies, including the mapping of licences to products

- Help provide SlimPay's Board and Management Team with the reporting, advice, and assurance they need to exercise effective oversight of compliance operations (three-lines-of-defence model)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

CORE REGULATORY MANAGEMENT

- Horizon Scanning, Obligations and Advocacy: Conduct horizon scanning, report analysis to stakeholders and the Board. Translate new and amended regulations into key obligations, and lead or oversee implementation where product changes are required. Support the Policy team and CCO in engagement with policymakers, regulators, or trade associations and provide input to consultation papers.

- Corporate Governance and Board Reporting: Regular and ad hoc compliance reporting to the Slimpay Board and relevant Committees and Management Team. Prepare and present regulatory and compliance matters for information, approval, and oversight. Track action items, escalations, and open decisions through to closure.

- Supervisory Engagement, Examinations, and Remediation: Work with the CCO to prepare for regulatory examinations, inspections, and reviews, including information requests and on-site logistics. Manage findings and resulting Management Action Plans (MAPs) to resolution. Keep internal stakeholders informed, and seek direction where required.

- Regulatory Reporting and Recordkeeping: Maintain the regulatory reporting schedule and register for SlimPay. Own the end-to-end reporting cycle: data collection, review, preparation, internal approval, and filing.

- Outsourcing: Oversee any outsourcing and intragroup arrangements supporting the other entities, whether provided by affiliates or third-party vendors.

  • Risk Events, Incidents, and Breaches:
  • Define and periodically review the framework for reportable incidents and breaches.
  • Participate in risk event and incident escalation processes, including support to assess impact.
  • Manage all regulatory notifications of reportable incidents/breaches, including root-cause analysis and follow-up. Maintain the reportable incidents and breaches register, including detail and resolution.
  • Support responses to customer complaints and escalations routed through regulatory ombudsmen and agencies.

COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

- Support the implementation of the Compliance Operating Model for one or more compliance domains, and provide support for other compliance domains as required.

STRATEGIC WORKSTREAMS – SUPPORTING THE CCO

  • Licensing, Permissions, and Authorisations:
  • Contribute to the licensing strategy and roadmap for SlimPay, including supporting business cases.
  • Support the assessment of licensing needs (e.g., from new products or to solve pain points) and processes for the application of new licences, permissions, and variations of permission.
  • Develop and maintain a licensing fit-for-purpose map by product, service, and jurisdiction. Maintain a licence maintenance and renewal plan, schedule, and process to keep all authorisations in good standing.
  • Product and Commercial Regulatory Advice:
  • Engage with Product Counsel to maintain a working understanding of the product and feature roadmap.
  • Support regulatory assessments of new products and features, providing compliance input and requirements.
  • Support go-to-market: ensure compliance issues are resolved before soft or full launch, escalation and monitoring plans are live, reporting paths are established, and conduct post-launch compliance monitoring.

WHO YOU ARE

- 5+ years of compliance, risk management and/or regulatory experience in payments or financial services, preferably with knowledge of requirements applicable to payment institutions and account-to-account payment providers.

- Working knowledge of EU and French payments regulation (e.g., PSD2, e-money and payment institution requirements) and AML/CTF obligations; experience working alongside regulators and industry bodies.

- Proven ability to support and maintain effective compliance programmes within a three-lines-of-defence model.

- Strong stakeholder management and organisational skills.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, fluent in French and highly proficient in English.

- A self-starter – comfortable working independently and within a team in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

- Proactive with an ability to take initiative, problem-solve, make decisions, and assume responsibility.

- Strong ability to think critically, analyse complex data, challenge the status quo, and make sound recommendations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
