Location: Austin, TX Position Type: Full-Time   About this opportunity:  Plans, directs, monitors, and evaluates all internal and external media and public relations functions for the Area Command to ensure the that The Salvation Army maintains a positive and professional image in the community; serves as Public Information Officer for all disaster services of the Area Command; serves as liaison to all media ensuring the desired message is communicated; takes photographs and writes articles covering Salvation Army events.    Key Responsibilities: 

Supervisory Responsibilities (20%)   Public Relations Responsibilities (50%)   Community Relations and Liaison Responsibilities (30%)   Strategic Planning and Evaluation Responsibilities (20%)  

  What we are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Relations, Communication or a related field, AND At least four years progressively responsible experience managing a public relations program OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities
