Custodian - NE_Corps Program-301JOB SUMMARY:Cleans andmaintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness ofthe same on a daily basis.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Thisjob description should not be interpreted as all inclusive.It is intended to identify the essentialfunctions and requirements of this position.The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilitiesand tasks other than those stated in this job description.Cleans andsanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, andreplenishes supplies.Sweeps, vacuums,mops and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks.Cleans windows;dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.Cleans kitchenand dining area; washes dishes.Empties trashcans regularly; collects trash from grounds.Assists insetting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs.Assists inmonitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order;replaces light bulbs as necessary.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists thepublic in unloading and carrying donations.Performs otherrelated work as required.MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:CleaningSupplies, Equipment & ToolsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:No formaleducation or experience required,six monthsexperience performing general housekeeping duties,orany equivalentcombination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge,skills, and abilities.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:None.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability toperform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds.Ability tofollow instructions and work independently.MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Ability to meetattendance requirements.Ability to readand communicate the English language.Ability to exertthe physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work.Ability toperform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work isperformed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoortemperatures, dirt and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.All employees recognize that The Salvation Army is achurch and agree that they will do nothing as an employee of The Salvation Armyto undermine its religious mission.
