Job Description

Ready to take your career global?

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Head of Stablecoin to join our product team and help shape the future of global commerce.

What you’ll own

As Head of Stablecoin, you will own the end-to-end strategy, vision and delivery of Global Payments' stablecoin and merchant money-orchestration proposition. You will bring together existing acquiring, wallet, ledger, FX, treasury, risk, compliance and payout capabilities, defining where Global Payments should build, partner or buy and positioning the company to participate across the full merchant money lifecycle.

  • Own and evolve Global Payments' stablecoin strategy and vision, moving from the moment of payment towards an integrated proposition for receiving, holding, converting, optimising and moving merchant funds
  • Lead the initial strategic discovery and produce a clear options paper covering priority customer segments, use cases, deployment models, economics, risks, capability gaps and recommended investment pathways
  • Define the target proposition and architecture for a reusable merchant wallet, ledger and orchestration layer that can support fiat, stablecoin and other programmable-money rails across Enterprise, Platforms, Marketplaces and other lines of business
  • Prioritise the most credible use cases, including treasury and liquidity management, merchant settlement, global payouts, seller and sub-merchant wallets, and cross-border money movement, while keeping consumer stablecoin acceptance proportionate to evidenced demand
  • Assess build, buy and partner choices across custody, blockchain connectivity, conversion, liquidity and compliance, retaining ownership of the merchant relationship, product experience, data and orchestration wherever this creates strategic advantage
  • Establish and lead the governance framework for stablecoin-enabled products, addressing regulatory, legal, accounting, treasury, safeguarding, financial-crime, custody, settlement and balance-sheet considerations
  • Oversee a disciplined test-and-learn roadmap, translating discovery into pilots and decision gates, unblocking cross-functional dependencies and ensuring investment is tied to validated customer problems and measurable outcomes
  • Act as the primary internal sponsor for stablecoin, aligning senior stakeholders and communicating a clear point of view on where Global Payments has a right to win and how the proposition complements existing acquiring and money-movement businesses
  • Represent Global Payments externally with merchants, partners, regulators, industry bodies and ecosystem providers, building strategic relationships and establishing the company as a thoughtful leader in stablecoin-enabled financial infrastructure

What you’ll bring

Technical skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, product, partnerships, treasury, payments infrastructure or general management roles within payments, fintech, banking or digital assets, including experience building a new business line or zero-to-one proposition
  • Deep knowledge of payments and money movement, with strong fluency in merchant settlement, wallets and ledgers, treasury, liquidity, FX, payouts, cross-border flows and the role of stablecoins within this ecosystem
  • Experience evaluating regulated operating models and complex build, buy and partner decisions, ideally spanning custody, blockchain infrastructure, compliance, safeguarding, accounting and balance-sheet implications
  • Track record of developing strategy, business cases and investment roadmaps under uncertainty, supported by structured customer discovery, commercial analysis, pilots and clear decision gates
  • Ability to translate fast-evolving technical and regulatory developments into clear product choices, executive narratives and recommendations for senior and Board-level audiences

Leadership skills:

  • A self-starter who thrives when building under significant ambiguity, comfortable creating the playbook rather than relying on established benchmarks
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to build and grow a high-performing cross-functional team
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influence, with a track record of aligning leaders across Product, Engineering, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Sales and Partnerships
  • Strong executive communication skills, able to represent the business externally with customers, partners, regulators, events and industry bodies, as well as internally with senior leadership and the Board
  • Commercially driven and evidence-led, able to balance speed and strategic option value with disciplined investment, risk management and clear customer demand
  • Intellectual humility and agility, with a bias towards using data, experimentation and merchant insight to make decisions when the market is moving quickly and perfect information is unavailable
  • Experience in stablecoins, digital assets, treasury infrastructure, wallets or regulated fintech is strongly preferred

About the team The Stablecoin team is a focused, cross-functional zero-to-one venture within Product. Its purpose is to define how Global Payments can extend from processing transactions into orchestrating the wider merchant money lifecycle, using stablecoins as one rail within a broader proposition spanning fiat and digital money.

The team brings together Product, Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Partnerships and Commercial expertise. It will map the end-to-end flow of funds, validate merchant demand and economics, assess regulatory and operating-model implications, and determine where Global Payments should own capabilities or integrate qualified partners.

The initial focus is to create a clear strategy, options paper and phased roadmap, then turn the strongest hypotheses into targeted pilots. Our ambition is to build a reusable wallet, ledger and orchestration capability that strengthens acquiring, enables treasury and liquidity services, supports merchant settlement and global payouts, and creates new value across Enterprise, Platforms and Marketplaces.

Our inclusive and global teams win together every day. We’re proud to have the best minds in the industry, who you can learn from as you grow your career. The people, the energy, the connections – it’s unmatched. Come and be part of an ever-evolving company and get dynamic opportunities that go beyond borders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
