The posting

  The Manager, Data & Analytics is responsible for leading Tuff Shed's enterprise Business Intelligence, reporting, analytics, and data engineering capabilities. This role oversees the development and support of enterprise reporting solutions, data models, analytics platforms, and data governance while partnering closely with business leaders to deliver actionable insights that support operational excellence and strategic decision-making.   The Manager, Data & Analytics provides leadership for the analytics team, establishes priorities, develops team capabilities, and ensures analytics initiatives align with business objectives and IT strategy. This individual combines technical expertise, business acumen, and people leadership to build a trusted enterprise analytics capability.   This is a working manager position that combines people leadership with hands-on technical contribution. In addition to leading the Data & Analytics function, this role is expected to actively participate in the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise analytics, reporting, data engineering, and business intelligence solutions.   Essential duties/responsibilities The essential functions for this position include but are not strictly limited to:

Lead the enterprise Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, and Data Engineering functions. Manage, mentor, coach, and develop members of the Data & Analytics team while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused culture. Establish team priorities, balance workload, and ensure timely delivery of analytics initiatives supporting business objectives. Partner with business leaders to understand analytical needs and develop scalable reporting and data solutions. Develop and execute the enterprise Data & Analytics roadmap aligned with organizational priorities. Establish and maintain enterprise reporting standards, data governance practices, metadata, and data quality processes. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data models, semantic models, dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions. Ensure enterprise reporting delivers consistent, trusted, and actionable business information. Provide technical leadership for data warehouse architecture, ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and analytics platform optimization. Review and prioritize enhancement requests, analytics initiatives, and operational support activities. Collaborate with Product Management, Software Development, Infrastructure, Security, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated technology solutions. Track, prioritize, and execute work using approved ticketing, project management, and workload management tools and processes while ensuring priorities, estimates, status, and documentation remain current and visible. Monitor team performance, project progress, and service levels while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Assist with vendor management, software evaluations, licensing, and technology selection related to analytics platforms. Serve as a working manager by directly contributing to the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of enterprise reporting, analytics, data engineering, and Business Intelligence solutions. Participate in the development of dashboards, reports, semantic models, ETL/ELT processes, data models, and other analytics deliverables while providing technical leadership and oversight to the team. Lead by example through active participation in technical work, code reviews, solution design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures supporting the analytics environment. Support executive reporting, KPI development, scorecards, and strategic performance measurement. Participate in developing annual objectives, budgets, staffing plans, and technology roadmaps for the analytics function. Remain technically engaged and provide hands-on support for complex analytics, reporting, data engineering, and production support activities when appropriate.

   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Directly supervise members of the Data & Analytics team. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Tuff Shed policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, employee development, performance evaluations, and addressing employee concerns. Foster collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the team.

  JOB QUALIFICATIONS – (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

Strong leadership and team development skills. Advanced understanding of Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Warehousing, and enterprise reporting. Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, semantic models, ETL/ELT architecture, and data integration. Strong SQL development and data analysis skills. Demonstrated ability to successfully balance people leadership responsibilities with direct hands-on technical contribution in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing business demands while maintaining high-quality deliverables. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and reporting standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and business relationship skills. Ability to translate business objectives into scalable analytical solutions. Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Experience managing work through structured ticketing, project management, and workload management processes. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with business leaders, technology partners, vendors, and team members. Ability to develop documentation, standards, and operational procedures supporting enterprise analytics. Ability to work scheduled in-office hours is required in order to:

Allow for direct supervision, observation of work performance, real time coaching and feedback, clarification of assignments and priorities, and timely intervention when questions, errors, or last-minute changes arise. Provide face-to-face onsite and real-time support to other employees, management, and leadership. Adapt to changing priorities, obtain direction and approvals, receive job-related feedback, observe and participate in company culture to assist with problem solving, and building relationships with onsite interdepartmental peers and leaders.

  EXPERIENCE

Five or more years of Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Warehousing experience preferred. Three or more years of technical leadership or people management experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Tableau, or similar enterprise analytics platforms. Strong SQL and relational database experience. Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and semantic models. Experience leading enterprise reporting initiatives and KPI development. Experience integrating ERP, CRM, financial, manufacturing, and operational systems. Experience managing analytics projects from requirements through implementation. Experience with Agile project delivery methodologies preferred. Experience supporting executive reporting and strategic business analytics.

  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES   Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Microsoft Certified Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate Azure Data Engineer Associate Project Management or Agile certification preferred
