The posting
Join our Solutions team as a Scientific Project Manager and help pharma partners make better R&D decisions using Turbine's Virtual Lab (vLab®).
vLab® lets scientists test hypotheses in Virtual Assays across millions of biological conditions, far beyond traditional lab throughput. The Solutions team - translational scientists, computational biologists and project managers - deploys vLab® into our partners' discovery workflows.
As a Scientific Project Manager, you'll also work with our modeling, product and wet-lab teams to expand and improve vLab and the underlying virtual cell technology.
About Turbine
A lab without limits, built for biopharma. Turbine’s Virtual Lab (vLab®) enables scientists to run Virtual Assays across millions of biological conditions far beyond traditional laboratory throughput. Instead of narrowing hypotheses to fit experimental constraints, scientists can explore the broader biological search space computationally before deciding what to validate in the wet lab. Turbine doesn’t replace the wet lab. It makes every experiment count. Through an integrated lab-in-the-loop workflow, virtual findings become testable hypotheses, with validation results feeding back to strengthen subsequent predictions within the workflow.
In deployed programs, Turbine has reduced decision timelines from 12-18 months to approximately two months while cutting wet-lab experiments by more than 50%.
Working with scientists at leading biopharma like MSD (Merck & Co.), AstraZeneca and Bayer, Turbine’s virtual assays have rationalized experiments across more than 30 discovery programs.
Backed by leading tech and industry investors like Accel, MSD Global Health Innovation Fund, Interactive Venture Partners and Beiersdorf, Turbine is turning biology into an engineering discipline.
The role
You will own vLab deployment projects end to end, from a partner's scientific question to a decision they can act on. You lead each deployment with a multidisciplinary team of scientists, and represent Solutions directly in conversations with prospective partners.
What you'll do
- Deploy vLab with pharma and biotech partners, from focused evaluation projects to longer-term, multi-program engagements
- Translate a partner's scientific question into executable engagement plans - Virtual Assays, data requirements, timelines and deliverables - together with our translational and computational biologists
- Lead a cross-functional delivery team, and coordinate with modeling and platform development teams to integrate Turbine's capabilities into partner workflows, or develop new ones
- Manage scope, timelines, costs, risks; keep track of decisions and actions, and report progress to partners and internal stakeholders. Work with our legal and finance teams so deployments run smoothly from contract to close
- Support business development through scientific proposals, feasibility assessments and project scoping
- Bring partner needs back to Product, helping define requirements and priorities for the vLab roadmap
- Align project goals with Turbine's strategic direction and company objectives
