The posting
General Laborer
Copper does not move itself. Every ton that leaves the pit depends on people who keep work areas clear, materials where crews need them, and the site safe enough to run. This role is the hands-on support that lets mining, maintenance, and processing stay on schedule. If you take pride in hard work done right, your effort shows up in daily production.
Performance Objectives
- Stage tools, parts, and materials so crews start work without delays.
- Load, unload, and move supplies safely using approved equipment and hand signals.
- Clear work areas of debris, scrap, and spills so traffic and maintenance can proceed.
- Support shutdowns and routine tasks by completing assigned prep and cleanup on time.
- Inspect your work area each shift and correct or report hazards before they stop the job.
- Follow lockout, PPE, and traffic rules with zero shortcuts on every task.
- Communicate status clearly so supervisors can reassign you where the operation needs help.
Environment & Resources
You will work outdoors and in industrial areas on a producing copper operation, reporting to a front-line supervisor within operations or maintenance. Shifts include heat, dust, noise, uneven ground, and physical lifting. You will use hand tools, radios, and site mobile equipment only after training and authorization. PPE, safety coaching, and task instruction are provided before you work alone.
Essential Qualifications
- Able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and stand, walk, bend, and climb for a full shift.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and callouts.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and basic safety procedures in English.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug screen.
- Prior labor, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred; not required if you can learn site rules quickly.
Why This Role
- A direct path into mining with paid, on-the-job training rather than a desk start.
- Work that is visible: clean areas, stocked crews, and safer shifts.
- Room to learn equipment, maintenance support, and site operations from people who run them.
- A stable industrial operation with clear safety expectations and equal opportunity for every qualified applicant.
