 Build production models, haul simulations, cycle-time analyses, and fleet match evaluations.

 Ensure mine plans align with safety requirements, operational constraints, and contract scope.

 Validate client engineering, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend design improvements.

 Support site teams with pit layouts, haul road design, stockpile planning, and material movement sequencing.

 Conduct on-site reviews of planning execution, haul road performance, and cycle efficiency to ensure accurate field

implementation.

 Assist in technical risk assessments and support the Director in evaluating operational, technical, and financial risks

associated with mining projects.

Technology Implementation & Systems Management

 Lead deployment, configuration, and training for GPS machine control, telematics, fleet management systems,

networking, drone mapping, and survey tools.

 Maintain data integrity across machine guidance, payload systems, telematics, and production reporting sources.

 Work with OEMs, vendors, IT, and field leadership to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.

 Develop and standardize technical SOPs for all planning, survey, and technology workflows.

 Support evaluation and integration of new mining technologies, automation, and digitalization tools, aligned with

Director-level strategy.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

 Build and maintain dashboards to visualize production, cost performance, equipment utilization, KPIs, and operational

trends.

 Analyze operational data to provide actionable insights to site teams.

 Support development of business intelligence tools and contribute to Turner’s operations data strategy.

 Generate recurring reports for project reviews, corporate updates, and executive briefings.

 Assist the Director in consolidating operational and financial data for senior management reporting.

 Automate data processing and reporting workflows to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.

Estimating & Strategic Support

 Provide production estimates, mine plans, and technical inputs for new project opportunities.

 Assist with operating cost models, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analyses as directed by the Director.

 Participate in due diligence assessments by evaluating client data, mine designs, and operational assumptions.

 Maintain a library of standardized estimating assumptions, performance baselines, and cost drivers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 Work closely with Operations leadership to reconcile planned versus actual performance and recommend

improvements.

 Coordinate with Maintenance to understand downtime drivers, SMU trends, and equipment health data.

 Partner with Safety on hazard analysis mapping, traffic management design, and geotechnical considerations.

 Assist the Director in facilitating workshops, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the organization.

 Support procurement reviews by providing technical insights into OEM capabilities and technology options.

The Ideal Candidate

Knowledge

 Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Data Analytics, or related technical field.

 5–10 years of direct experience in mining or heavy civil operations with demonstrated planning and analytical capability.

 Strong understanding of mine planning, haulage optimization, pit design, and equipment productivity.

 Proficiency with mine planning or CAD tools (Civil 3D, Carlson, Deswik, Minesight, or similar).

 Advanced Excel capability and working proficiency with Power BI and database/reporting tools.

 Familiarity with machine control, telematics systems, drone survey workflows, and GIS.

 Working knowledge of production cost modeling, KPI tracking, and operational performance analytics.

Key Competencies / Skills

 Analytical, precise, and able to synthesize complex datasets into clear recommendations.

 Strong communicator able to work across technical and non-technical teams.

 Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under deadlines.

 Technically curious, proactive, and driven to improve processes and systems.

 Capable of providing leadership and mentorship within the technical services function.

 Collaborative and dependable, with a commitment to Turner’s values and operational excellence.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
