You will work closely with senior commercial stakeholders to ensure that contract changes are identified, assessed, governed and implemented effectively while supporting programme objectives, commercial outcomes and risk management requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the establishment and delivery of a first of a kind major programme environment, requiring individuals who are comfortable operating in a fast-paced setting with evolving priorities, ambiguity and complex stakeholder landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, assessment, governance and management of contract changes across multiple commercial workstreams.
  • Ensure effective approval, documentation and implementation of contractual changes in line with governance requirements.
  • Manage change control processes, including evaluation of cost, schedule, risk and operational impacts.
  • Support the negotiation and agreement of contract changes with suppliers, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Lead contract management activities for one or more high-profile, complex and strategic contracts.
  • Manage all aspects of the contract lifecycle including mobilisation, delivery, performance management, change control, transition and contract close-out activities.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, governance, performance management, risk mitigation, escalation and compliance throughout contract execution.
  • Assess and manage contract variations, providing practical advice and commercial recommendations.
  • Support the development and implementation of programme-wide contract change and commercial governance frameworks.
  • Evaluate contract performance and value for money, ensuring contracts deliver intended commercial and strategic outcomes.
  • Oversee the realisation and tracking of benefits arising from contract performance improvement and change initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across contract management and commercial processes.
  • Manage risk and reward mechanisms, contractual incentives and KPI performance frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract outcomes through effective change strategies and commercial interventions.
  • Lead supplier performance management activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Resolve commercial issues and disputes in a proactive and collaborative manner.
  • Advise on and mitigate risks to continuity of supply, operational delivery and programme performance.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, management information, reporting and commercial documentation.
  • Support procurement and commercial activities where contract amendments, variations or new contractual arrangements are required.
  • Work within project governance frameworks and industry best practice to deliver compliant and effective commercial outcomes.
  • Prepare and present clear commercial reporting, recommendations and change approvals to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Significant experience in contract management, contract change management or commercial management on major infrastructure, engineering or energy programmes.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end contract lifecycle management principles.
  • Experience managing medium to high-value, high-risk and complex contracts.
  • Demonstrable experience managing contractual change processes, including governance, approvals and implementation.
  • Experience negotiating contract variations, claims and commercial settlements.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate value for money and contractual performance.
  • Knowledge of contract law principles and their practical application.
  • Experience managing commercial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
  • Experience developing and maintaining contract management plans, reporting and performance frameworks.

Desirable

  • Experience procuring consultancy, engineering, construction or major project contracts.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement regulations and governance frameworks.
  • Experience working within highly regulated or government-related programme environments.
  • Understanding of supplier performance management, KPI frameworks and commercial assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or other standard forms of contract.
  • Experience supporting programme-wide commercial governance and change control frameworks.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
