At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Redlands, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Redlands, CA

Details:

  • In-Person Tutoring in Redlands, CA
  • Schedule: 20 hours, 2 sessions a week for 2.5 hours
  • Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

  • An active teaching credential is required.
  • Strong experience supporting students with special education needs and individualized learning goals.
  • Experience teaching high school students who are performing below grade level academically.
  • Strong knowledge of foundational and applied mathematics, including core operations, problem-solving, and multi-step reasoning.
  • Skilled in reading comprehension, written expression, grammar, sentence structure, and writing organization.
  • Patient and encouraging, with the ability to break down complex concepts into manageable steps.
  • Experienced in using scaffolding, guided practice, repetition, and individualized instructional strategies to reinforce learning.
  • Able to build student confidence while helping close academic gaps and improve overall academic performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized academic instruction in Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA).
  • Reinforce core math operations, problem-solving strategies, and multi-step reasoning through structured lessons and guided practice.
  • Strengthen reading comprehension skills, including identifying main ideas, themes, supporting details, and key information in paragraphs and articles.
  • Support written expression through explicit instruction in grammar, sentence structure, paragraph development, and writing organization.
  • Break down reading passages and complex assignments into smaller, manageable sections.
  • Model strategies for identifying important information, organizing ideas, and developing clear written responses.
  • Use writing frameworks, visual supports, and scaffolded activities to strengthen academic communication.
  • Incorporate repetition and consistent review to reinforce understanding and retention of key concepts.
  • Adjust lesson pacing and instructional methods based on the student's academic level and individual learning needs.
  • Monitor academic progress and provide ongoing feedback to help build confidence and independence.
