Hiring Full-Time Chinese Tutors

Company: TutorJohn Learning Centre Location: Choa Chu Kang (CCK) / Tampines West Position: Full-Time Chinese Tutor (Primary & Secondary)

Salary:

  • Full-Time: $2,500 – $3,500 per month, based on experience, with performance bouns

Work Days (Full-Time): 4 weekdays + 1 weekend

Working Hours:

  • Weekdays: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM / 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • Weekends: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

TutorJohn Learning Centre is a fast-growing tuition brand with three branches across Singapore, including two in Choa Chu Kang and one in Tampines. We offer English, Math, Science and Chinese lessons, with a strong focus on helping students build confidence through structured teaching systems and consistent academic support.

We are currently hiring Full-Time Chinese Tutors for our Choa Chu Kang and Tampines West branches. This role is suitable for candidates who are confident in teaching Chinese to Primary and Secondary students. The ability to support additional subjects would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Lesson Delivery

Conduct engaging lessons aligned with the latest MOE syllabus, supporting students in structured academic improvement.

Full-time tutors may teach up to 3 classes per day, while part-time teaching schedules will depend on assigned classes.

Chinese (Primary & Secondary)

  • Chinese composition and writing techniques
  • Reading comprehension and answering techniques
  • Vocabulary, sentence construction and language application
  • Examination preparation and syllabus-based revision

Additional Subjects (Where Applicable)

Candidates who are comfortable teaching other subjects may also support:

English: Writing, comprehension, grammar and answering techniques

Math: Concept mastery, problem-solving and exam application

Science: Foundation building, scientific concepts and structured answering techniques

Student Progress and Parent Confidence

  • Conduct short assessments to evaluate students' understanding.
  • Identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies based on individual needs.
  • Monitor academic progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Build parent confidence through consistent student progress and clear academic support.

Operational Support

  • Assist with lesson preparation and teaching resources.
  • Support scheduling and other teaching-related administrative matters.
  • Contribute to smooth day-to-day centre operations.

Leadership Growth Opportunities

Strong-performing full-time tutors may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and progress towards positions such as Assistant Centre Manager.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Diploma or Degree holders, preferably in education-related fields
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
  • Preferably with at least 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience
  • Strong in Primary and Secondary Chinese subject fundamentals
  • Familiar with the Singapore MOE syllabus
  • Confident in classroom management and explaining concepts clearly
  • Responsible, consistent and committed to student outcomes
  • Able to commit until the end of the academic year
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating with other tutors
