Job Summary

Test streaming video applications across multiple platforms, define test strategies, automate functional tests, triage bugs, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure high-quality OTT and video app performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement test approaches and strategies for streaming video applications on Windows, iOS, macOS, web, and third-party devices such as LG TVs, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV
  • Execute functionality, compatibility, integration, and reliability testing for Video and OTT applications like Netflix or Instagram
  • Develop and maintain functional test automation scripts using Python or JavaScript to improve test efficiency (preferred skill)
  • Use network monitoring tools such as CharlesProxy or Wireshark to analyze network traffic and diagnose issues
  • Test accessibility features including VoiceOver, Dynamic Type, Hover Text, and Full Keyboard Access to ensure inclusive user experience
  • Perform backend service testing to validate server-side functionality (preferred skill)
  • Triage bugs by analyzing logs, writing detailed bug reports, and driving issues to resolution
  • Use Unix terminal commands to collect logs and diagnose problems effectively
  • Analyze automation test reports, perform root cause analysis, and raise defects to improve test coverage
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems and remove blockers proactively
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively in written reports and discussions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Experience in functional test automation using scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript
  • Experience with backend service testing
  • Familiarity with GIT version control system
