Responsibilities This full-time opportunity for Weekend Only Option at Valle Vista offers 32 hours per weekend, full benefits, providing care on our adolescent unit. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. Work hours would be 7:00 am to 11:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, please visit us at vallevistahospital.com Position Summary: Mental Health Technicians provide direct care and supervision for residents, assure residents are kept safe, learn and practice appropriate hygiene and self-help skills, and are aware of rules and expectations. Act as a role model for residents, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills. Assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Perform duties as assigned in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. Mental Health Technicians report to the Unit Coordinator under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred. Experience: Six months to one year of experience working with a behavioral health in-patient population preferred.
