We are seeking a full-time Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist to join a hospital-employed cardiovascular team at one of America’s first freestanding cardiovascular hospitals in McAllen, Texas. Quick Facts • Employment Type: Full-Time • Schedule / Hours: Standard clinical hours with shared call coverage • Call: Shared call with cardiology team • Patient Volume: High demand cardiovascular service area • Location: McAllen/Edinburg, Texas (Rio Grande Valley) • Practice Setting: Freestanding cardiovascular hospital within South Texas Health System (STHS) • Support / Care Team: Collaborative multidisciplinary cardiac care team with practice development and marketing support • EMR / Technology: Cerner electronic medical record system Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive interventional cardiology care to adult patients • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and support staff across inpatient and outpatient settings • Manage day-to-day procedural and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac cath lab and beyond • Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR Compensation & Benefits • Salary: Highly competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives and productivity bonuses • Sign-on / Relocation: Physician signing bonus and relocation assistance available • Health, Dental, Vision & Retirement: Comprehensive coverage including 401(k) with company match and employee stock purchase plan • PTO, CME & Schedule Flexibility: Generous PTO and CME allowance to support continuing medical education • Wellness & Work-Life Balance Support: Malpractice insurance coverage and loan assistance programs Qualifications • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology • Completion of Interventional Cardiology fellowship training required • Active or eligible Texas medical license • Spanish language skills not required Growth & Development • Physician partnership opportunities available • Leadership, mentorship, and academic involvement encouraged • Practice development and marketing support About the Organization & Community South Texas Health System (STHS) is a regional multi-hospital system with a strong reputation for excellence in cardiovascular care and comprehensive specialty services.
