UHS is currently recruiting for our Hospital Administrator Program at Doctors Hospital of Laredo (Laredo, TX). Doctor's Hospital of Laredo has 183 licensed beds and is co-owned with physician investors. It is a Level III Trauma Center and has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The facility has over 40,000 emergency department visits each year and employs over 600 employees. The active medical staff consists of 190 physicians, including 120 active staff members. The hospitals service lines include: Cancer, Cardiology, Open Heart, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Women’s Health, Dialysis. The hospital recently invested $9.2 million to expand the Intensive Care Unit and $7.6 million to expand our OP surgical services. Position Summary: The selected candidate will provide day-to-day operations for various hospital departments and be assigned projects to further the strategy of the Hospitals. He/she will implement the strategy of the CEO and COO and will manage their assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize the quality of services and the profits of the hospital. The individual will also be enrolled in our corporate Leadership Development classes to further their development as a junior executive and prepare the indivual to become a COO within UHS. Qualifications Position Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects is required. Skills: Must be detail oriented and able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations. Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees is required. Education: Master’s degree required (MBA, MHA or related program).
