Responsibilities Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units. More information about Southridge can be found online: https://southridgebh.com/ This position supports our team as a Temporary Assignment for 6 months on 12 hour night shifts, with the possibility of extension. As a temporary position this is not eligible for our Paid Time Off benefit programs, however we offer a set base pay of $40/hour. Night Shift Differential is an additional $2 on weekdays and $3.50 on weekends. Description Licensed Practical Nurses LPN carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor: Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan. Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse. Partners with RN with patient admissions and discharges. Administers medication and treatments to patients. Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications. Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures. Hours and Location: Full Time Night Shift. 3 12-hour shifts, 7pm-7:30am. Every other weekend rotation. We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315 Qualifications Job Requirements Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing. Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory, and practice, with previous psychiatric clinical experience desired. Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care. Current LPN Licensure in the State of Michigan Required.
