  • ISO 26262 Functional Safety
  • ISO/SAE 21434 Automotive Cybersecurity
  • ISO 21448 Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF)
  • ISO/PAS 8800 AI Safety

The successful candidate will combine engineering experience with consulting and assessment expertise to independently lead customer engagements within their areas of specialization, while collaborating with other subject matter experts to deliver integrated solutions.

This role requires end-to-end ownership of consulting engagements, including technical delivery, project management, customer communication, applicable assessment activities, and business development support.

Responsibilities

  1. Apply in-depth conceptual and practical expertise to deliver consulting, assessment, gap analysis, and training services in at least two of the core disciplines listed above. Apply working knowledge of related process models and frameworks, including SPICE for IT Services, Data Management SPICE, CMMI, and Agile/SAFe, as relevant to customer engagements.
  2. Lead the definition, integration, deployment, and improvement of development processes that address Automotive SPICE, functional safety, cybersecurity, and SOTIF requirements, as applicable to the customer’s products and organizational context.
  3. Independently manage consulting engagements from scope definition and planning through delivery and closure, with accountability for technical quality, deliverables, schedules, effort, risks, and customer communication.
  4. Lead Automotive SPICE assessments within the scope of the consultant’s qualifications, including assessment planning, interviews, evidence review, consolidation, reporting, and presentation of findings.
  5. Conduct functional safety and cybersecurity gap analyses, audits, assessments, and technical reviews within the scope of applicable qualifications, authorization, and independence requirements.
  6. Provide ISO 21448 advisory and review support, including SOTIF planning, analysis of functional insufficiencies and triggering conditions, verification and validation strategies, and evaluation of supporting evidence.
  7. Guide customers in developing and reviewing engineering work products, including requirements, architectures, safety and cybersecurity analyses, verification and validation evidence, and safety and cybersecurity cases.
  8. Translate assessment findings and technical gaps into practical, prioritized improvement roadmaps, and support customers in implementing and verifying corrective actions.
  9. Advise customers on ALM, configuration management, change management, requirements traceability, and engineering toolchain integration to support effective process implementation.
  10. Serve as the primary technical interface for customer engagements, facilitating workshops, project reviews, and discussions with engineering teams, project managers, and management stakeholders.
  11. Resolve complex technical and organizational issues by integrating input from multiple disciplines and stakeholders. Communicate sensitive findings clearly, objectively, and constructively.
  12. Develop and deliver customer training, workshops, technical presentations, and reusable consulting materials.
  13. Mentor consultants and assessors, share technical knowledge, and contribute to consistent delivery methods and the development of organizational capabilities.
  14. Support business development by clarifying customer needs, defining technical approaches and Statements of Work, estimating effort and budgets, and identifying relevant follow-on opportunities.
  15. Collaborate with international teams and represent the company at customer meetings, conferences, seminars, and other industry events. Travel to customer sites and other company locations as required.
  16. Integrate continuous improvement, safety culture, professional integrity, confidentiality, and applicable physical and digital security practices into all activities. Follow the company’s Code of Conduct and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
  2. At least 8 years of relevant experience in automotive or semiconductor engineering, process improvement, functional safety, cybersecurity, SOTIF, AI safety, or related consulting disciplines, including at least 5 years of experience leading consulting engagements, assessments, or engineering improvement programs.

A current intacs® Certified Competent Assessor qualification is required for candidates presenting Automotive SPICE assessment as a core specialization.

Relevant professional certifications or assessor qualifications appropriate to the candidate’s selected areas of specialization, such as intacs® Certified Competent Assessor, UL Certified Functional Safety Expert, TÜV Functional Safety Manager/Engineer, UL Certified Cybersecurity Expert, or relevant SOTIF or AI safety credentials. Training attendance or certification alone does not substitute for demonstrated practical competence.
  10. Ability to integrate the candidate’s areas of specialization into customer development processes and collaborate with specialists in other disciplines to deliver coherent, integrated solutions.
  11. Practical understanding of system, software, or hardware engineering and the associated development lifecycle, supported by relevant engineering or consulting experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
