Make a meaningful difference with UnitingCare Queensland

Are you looking to grow your skills across Family and Domestic Violence, Child Protection, Family Support, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, and Homelessness?

If you’re passionate about making real change where it matters most, we’ve got you covered.

We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Case Worker to join our Gold Coast Homelessness Service – Immediate Housing Response (IHR) program, based at our Southport site.

This is a dynamic, frontline role where no two days are the same and your work has a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Your part in our UnitingCare team

As a Case Worker, you will support single people, couples, and families experiencing primary homelessness, delivering client-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed case management.

Our clients often experience complex and intersecting challenges, so experience or knowledge in domestic and family violence, child protection, AOD, and mental health is desirable alongside essential case management experience.

You’ll work alongside clients during times of crisis, helping them maintain emergency motel accommodation while supporting them to work towards their goals and secure longer-term housing outcomes.

If you’re a passionate team player who wants to deepen your practice, work across diverse service domains, and be part of a service that truly makes a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

What makes a difference for us?

  • This role suits someone who can think on their feet, triage effectively, and remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’ll balance autonomy with teamwork, working closely with a supportive and experienced group of professionals who are committed to best practice and shared learning.
  • You will have access to a range of senior practitioners for professional development and support, alongside monthly in-house supervision and ongoing sector training. Uniting Care prides itself on its strong commitment to professional development and internal career progression.
  • You’ll use your strong communication and rapport-building skills to assess needs, strengths, safety, and risk, and to collaboratively develop and implement holistic case plans.
  • Strong written communication and IT skills are also key, as you’ll navigate a range of databases and administrative tasks to ensure high-quality service delivery and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Cert IV Community Services related field.
  • Australian Drivers Licence.
  • QLD Working with Children Check - Blue Card.
  • Ideally, you'll have completed or be working towards a Bachelor Degree in a Human Services related field.

We are assessing applications and holding interviews as applications are received, so we encourage you to apply without delay.

What makes a difference for you?

  • Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance
  • NFP Salary Packaging: Save tax and increase your take home pay by salary packaging your everyday living expenses and bills (up to $15,900) and meal entertainment (up to $2,650) per annum. To learn more about this benefit watch the video via the following link: Salary Packaging Explained
  • A recognition and rewards platform, providing employee discounts at hundreds of retailers, including everyday expenses, holidays, health insurance, annual awards celebration, wellbeing and employee assistance programs
  • 12 weeks paid parental leave and 2 weeks paid partner leave, available after 6 months service, in addition to the government scheme
  • Diversity and inclusive leave, offering paid gender affirmation leave and cultural leave options (paid and unpaid) for those who may celebrate Lunar New Year, Diwali, Ramadan, NAIDOC weeks and other significant cultural events
  • Career development opportunities to challenge yourself, grow and make a meaningful difference
  • A positive and inclusive team based on respect, shared standards, strong values and a commitment to serving others

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
