The posting

The opportunity

Unity's 2D toolset powers millions of games, from pixel-art platformers to the highest-grossing titles on mobile. The 2D team owns the sprite pipeline, 2D Tilemap, 2D SpriteShape, 2D animation, 2D Graphics, 2D Physics and UGUI that creators reach for every day, and we're growing the team in our Singapore office.

As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll work on 2D features and on the AI automation that enables them, building the structured interfaces that let an agent operate our 2D tools the way a creator would. You'll be part of the 2D team in Singapore and will collaborate with colleagues there and with engineering teams across Unity.

You'll have a mentor, regular code review, and plenty of room to ask questions. Our primary development languages are C# and C++, with Python for tooling. If you're eager to work on a codebase that millions of people rely on while helping shape how AI fits into it, this is a great opportunity for you!

What you'll be doing

  • Writing clear, maintainable C# to build and maintain 2D features in the Unity Editor and runtime
  • Building the agent-facing layer for 2D tooling, including structured APIs and tool definitions that let an LLM operate features such as tilemaps, sprite editing, and 2D animation
  • Extending that automation into test coverage for the 2D features we already ship, catching regressions before they reach creators
  • Investigating and fixing bugs reported by our community
  • Reviewing how well our agents perform against real creator workflows and feeding what you find back into the tooling
  • Collaborating with your colleagues to ensure team success

What we're looking for

  • Programming experience in C# or another object-oriented language
  • Curiosity about LLMs and what they can and can't do, from any kind of hands-on use
  • A willingness to learn C++ and pick up new areas of the codebase
  • Enjoyment of problem-solving and comfort sitting with a bug until you understand it
  • Clear written communication and a habit of asking questions early

You might also have

  • Experience using Unity, whether at work, at school, or in your own projects
  • Familiarity with prompting, tool calling, or agent frameworks
  • Some Python or scripting experience

Additional information

  • This is a permanent position based in our Singapore office
  • Base Salary Range: S$61,900 - S$92,900 SGD gross

This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
