Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The School of Pharmacy is seeking an academic with particular expertise in experiential education, workplace learning and placement partnerships. You will support the design, delivery and continuous improvement of placements and practicums that are educationally purposeful, well-supported and aligned with programme outcomes, professional standards and accreditation expectations.

While this appointment has a particular initial focus in this area, the successful candidate may contribute more broadly to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, supervision and academic activities across the School of Pharmacy according to their expertise and the evolving needs of the School.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate experiential and workplace-learning curricula across the BPharm and relevant postgraduate pharmacy programmes.
  • Build productive relationships with community, hospital, primary care, Māori and Pacific health, rural, industry and other placement partners and providers, and internally with the School and Faculty’s placement teams.
  • Support preparation and development of students, preceptors and workplace supervisors.
  • Contribute to workplace-based assessment, quality assurance, student progress monitoring and appropriate academic responses to placement concerns.
  • Coordinate courses or modules and contribute to placement-capacity planning, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Enhance student learning and engagement, responding constructively to student and peer review feedback
  • Develop and implement innovations in teaching and assessment, and evaluate their impact through peer review
  • Supervise undergraduate projects and postgraduate students, and develop scholarship or research in experiential education, workplace learning, professional identity or preceptor development.
  • Lead and contribute to service activities within the School, Faculty, and wider University community

This is a permanent, full-time position, though a part-time role may be considered depending on the successful candidate's needs. We are ideally seeking someone who can commence April 2027, however we can be flexible on the start date for the right person.

The salary range for this role is $99,788 - $145,741 depending on skills and experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
