Job Summary

The University of Austin seeks a relational, highly organized, and proactive Coordinator to support its Talent Network and broader Community Relations initiatives. This full-time role in the Student Life & Community department offers room for creativity and professional growth in a fast-paced, growing university.

The Talent Network connects UATX students with professionals, companies, foundations, think tanks, graduate programs, and other organizations offering mentorship, internships, jobs, fellowships, site visits, and career exposure. The Coordinator will act as the bridge between students and these partners, managing the systems, data, and follow-through that turn opportunities into results, while also supporting programs such as the Parents Program, major events, and commencement.

The ideal candidate pairs relational warmth with operational discipline, becoming a trusted resource for students and a valued representative to partners, and freeing the Vice President to focus on new partnerships and expanding the network.

Responsibilities

Talent Network

  • Serve as the primary student contact for Talent Network opportunities and manage its day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain a database of members, partners, student interests, opportunities, deadlines, and outcomes, along with a calendar of recruiting cycles and application deadlines.
  • Gather current opportunity details from partners, communicate them to students, and help students understand requirements and timelines.
  • Steward opportunities from introduction through completion, collecting student feedback and tracking participation, placements, and impact.
  • Support events, site visits, Brown Bag Lunch & Learns, mentorship initiatives, and communications to members, including newsletters, invitations, and follow-up.
  • Build strong relationships with students and assist with resume reviews and professional comportment.

Community Relations

  • Support the Vice President in strengthening relationships with students, families, alumni, prospective students, and the broader community.
  • Provide operational support for the Parents Program, including communications, databases, events, and volunteers.
  • Serve as the main liaison with University events staff and assist with commencement and other milestone events.
  • Help develop new initiatives such as merchandise and alumni efforts.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and own projects from planning through completion.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends for University events.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Comfort with databases, spreadsheets, and calendars.
  • Sound judgment and professionalism with students, families, leadership, and partners.
  • Genuine interest in students' professional development.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in a professional environment
  • Experience in recruiting, higher education, career services, talent development, advancement, or community relations.
  • Experience with event coordination or external partner networks.
  • Experience working with students or young professionals.
  • Experience with CRM or relationship-management tools.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
