Uprite Construction is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead a large industrial tilt up project in Merced, California. This role requires someone with significant ground up tilt up construction experience who is comfortable owning field operations, coordinating trades, driving the schedule, and maintaining strong safety and quality standards from mobilization through closeout.

Candidates MUST CURRENTLY live in California. We are open to candidates based in Northern California or Southern California who are accustomed to traveling for projects and are comfortable being onsite in Merced for the duration of the assignment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead day to day field operations for a large ground up industrial tilt up project

• Manage the project from sitework and foundations through concrete tilt panels, structural steel, roofing, MEP systems, interiors, and closeout

• Coordinate tilt panel sequencing, erection activities, crane operations, bracing, structural connections, and associated trades

• Develop and maintain project schedules, look ahead schedules, sequencing plans, and daily field activities

• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure scopes are properly planned and executed

• Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, inspections, and field coordination

• Work closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners

• Identify potential schedule, constructability, and field coordination issues before they impact the project

• Maintain strong quality control throughout all phases of construction

• Manage site logistics, deliveries, manpower planning, equipment coordination, and material flow

• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with plans, specifications, schedule, and project requirements

• Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation

• Drive punch list, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities

What You'll Bring:

• Significant Superintendent experience with a commercial general contractor

• Heavy ground up concrete tilt up experience is required

• Strong understanding of tilt wall construction from foundations and slab preparation through panel erection and building dry in

• Industrial construction experience is strongly preferred

• Experience building large distribution centers, fulfillment centers, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, or similar industrial projects

• Amazon warehouse or fulfillment center construction experience is a major plus

• Experience managing large subcontractor teams and complex project schedules

• Strong knowledge of concrete, structural steel, sitework, underground utilities, roofing, MEP systems, and interior buildout

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings

• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to hold subcontractors accountable while maintaining productive relationships

• Safety focused with a strong understanding of jobsite safety requirements and field best practices

Location and Travel Requirements

• Must currently reside in California

• Project is located in Merced, California

• Candidates from both Northern California and Southern California will be considered

• Candidates who do not live within commuting distance of Merced must be comfortable traveling to the project

• This is an onsite field leadership position and requires consistent presence at the project

Ideal Background

The strongest candidate will come from a commercial general contractor and have personally led multiple large ground up concrete tilt up projects. We are especially interested in Superintendents with industrial warehouse, distribution, logistics, fulfillment, or manufacturing experience. Experience delivering Amazon warehouse or fulfillment projects would be highly valuable, but substantial tilt up experience is the most important requirement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
