Position Overview The Director will lead brand-aligned learning strategy and execution for JELMYTO, ZUSDURI, UGN-103 launch readiness, and future portfolio priorities. As the primary L&D partner to Marketing brand teams, this leader translates commercial strategy into practical learning experiences that strengthen product and disease-state knowledge, selling skills, customer engagement, and consistent field execution. This role requires a proactive leader who connects individual training initiatives to broader business goals and takes ownership from needs assessment through implementation, measurement, and reinforcement. The Director independently advances agreed priorities, anticipates dependencies, recommends solutions, and delivers complete, accurate work with disciplined follow-through. The role partners with Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and other stakeholders within the overall L&D strategy.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • 10 or more years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotechnology commercial experience, including at least 4 years in commercial learning, sales training, or capability development. Marketing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading brand-aligned learning programs and complex cross-functional projects from strategy through execution and measurement.
  • Experience supporting new product launches, readiness assessments, and certification programs; oncology, uro-oncology, urology, or specialty pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of field selling, brand strategy, customer needs, and the operational and access considerations that influence execution.
  • Proven instructional design and facilitation skills, including development of application-based workshops, digital learning, assessments, and coaching resources.
  • Experience managing external vendors, budgets, and promotional material review and approval workflows.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority, challenge constructively, and establish clear commitments across functions.
  • Ability to travel for field engagement, training, and company meetings as required.

Core leadership expectations

  • Proactive judgment: Anticipates needs and moves work forward without repeated prompting; seeks alignment at the right decision points.
  • Strategic perspective: Explains how each initiative supports brand priorities, field capability, and business outcomes; recommends trade-offs when priorities compete.
  • Ownership and follow-through: Remains accountable for the complete outcome, including stakeholder actions, approvals, implementation, and reinforcement.
  • Thoroughness and quality: Checks details, tests usability, and resolves gaps before delivery; produces work that is ready for stakeholder review.
  • Clear communication: Provides concise status updates, identifies decisions needed, and raises risks early with recommended solutions.

What success looks like Success is demonstrated by learning plans that anticipate business needs; milestones and approvals achieved on time; complete, field-ready deliverables; verified readiness and skill application; and timely action on learning gaps. Brand learning strategy and business partnership

  • Serve as the lead L&D partner to Marketing brand teams, translating brand plans, customer insights, field feedback, and performance gaps into prioritized learning roadmaps.
  • Proactively identify capability needs and recommend the learning approach, timing, resources, and measures of success; distinguish training needs from process, resource, or execution barriers requiring other functional owners.
  • Connect learning across brands and field roles to reduce duplication, address dependencies, and balance launch readiness with continued execution for existing products.

Selling capability and launch readiness

  • Build curricula across product knowledge, disease state, patient recognition, customer engagement, probing questions, objection handling, account planning, and cross-functional execution.
  • Own assigned pre-launch, launch, and post-launch learning plans, including role-specific curricula, facilitator preparation, readiness assessments, certification, remediation, and reinforcement.
  • Design realistic practice, simulations, and coaching resources that help field teams apply approved messaging and tools in customer interactions.
  • Partner with field leaders and Regional Trainers to reinforce learning, validate skill application, and identify additional coaching needs.

End to end project ownership and quality

  • Own assigned initiatives from scope and needs assessment through design, development, stakeholder alignment, PARC review, delivery, evaluation, and ongoing updates.
  • Create and maintain integrated project plans with deliverables, owners, milestones, budgets, dependencies, approval deadlines, and contingency plans. Confirm completion and close outstanding actions.
  • Anticipate risks and resolve issues within the role’s authority; escalate decisions early with a clear business impact, options, and recommended action.
  • Manage vendors against agreed scope, quality standards, budgets, and deadlines; provide clear direction and verify deliverables before acceptance.
  • Ensure materials are accurate, complete, consistent, and ready for use. Validate participant instructions, facilitator guides, exercises, assessments, and supporting resources before delivery.
  • Coordinate required PARC submissions, revisions, and approvals; maintain version control and ensure only approved materials are released for field use.

Learning delivery and field application

  • Lead the content and learning execution of assigned National Field Meeting, POA, onboarding, and virtual training sessions, coordinating with meeting logistics partners.
  • Use adult learning principles and a mix of live, virtual, digital, and field-based learning to build capability efficiently and support different learning needs.
  • Partner with L&D operations to ensure learning assignments, materials, assessments, and completion reporting are accurate and available when needed.

Measurement and continuous improvement

  • Define success measures before development, including baseline capability, knowledge and skill validation, field application, and relevant execution indicators.
  • Report outcomes and remaining gaps to L&D and functional leaders, pairing findings with recommended actions and owners.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness beyond attendance and completion, using assessment results, manager observations, field feedback, and available business data.
  • Apply lessons learned and appropriate learning technologies, including AI-enabled tools where permitted, to improve quality, efficiency, and learner experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
