ABOUT USALCO

Water powers life. At Usalco, that means only the best will do: cleaner water, smarter systems, and sustainable outcomes. Since 1980, we've built the coagulant technology the industry runs on, and today 1 in 3 Americans depend on water treated with our products. We're headquartered in Baltimore, operate manufacturing and logistics locations across North America, and we're investing in the people, products, and digital tools that keep our customers ahead.

THE ROLE

You'll own Usalco's presence on the show. Most of your time goes to planning, managing, and executing our trade show and event calendar, from national flagships like AWWA ACE, WEFTEC, and WQTC to state section meetings and customer events.

The rest focuses on internal communications, turning company news into updates for employees.

You'll work closely with Sales, Technical Services, Product, HR, and Operations, and you'll report to the VP of Marketing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Trade shows and events

  • Own the calendar. Recommend which national, regional, and state section shows we attend, sponsor, or skip based on audience fit, lead potential, and cost.
  • Run the logistics. Manage registration, booth space, exhibitor services, shipping, hotel blocks, and staffing schedules for every event, end to end.
  • Manage booth assets. Oversee exhibit properties, graphics, and inventory, including storage, repairs, refresh cycles, and exhibit house and freight vendors.
  • Align the team. Set show objectives with Sales; coordinate booth staffing, demos, speaking submissions, and customer meetings.
  • Promote before, during, and after. Partner with content and digital to plan pre-show outreach, onsite materials, giveaways, and post-show follow-up.
  • Capture every lead. Run lead retrieval at each show and make sure leads land in Salesforce quickly and cleanly for sales follow-up.
  • Manage the money. Track spend by event against approved budget lines and GL codes; manage vendor contracts, POs, and invoices.
  • Prove the value. Deliver a post-show report for each major event covering leads, pipeline influenced, cost per lead, and recommendations.
  • Host our own events. Plan customer and partner events such as customer training and special events.

Internal communications

  • Write, edit, and publish content for Uconnect and other internal channels, including company news, leadership messages, operations and safety updates, recognition, and new-hire announcements.
  • Maintain an internal communications calendar with HR, Operations, and leadership.
  • Translate major initiatives, such as acquisition integrations and product launches, into clear, timely updates for employees across every location.
  • Build a network of site contributors to source stories and photos from across North America.
  • Track readership and engagement, and recommend improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of trade show and event management experience, ideally in B2B, industrial, or manufacturing markets.
  • A track record of running multiple shows at once while hitting deadlines and staying on budget.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with samples of internal or corporate communications.
  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM for lead capture and campaign tracking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional organization and follow-through, with the self-direction to thrive in a remote role.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%, including some weekends, and to occasionally lift booth materials up to 40 pounds.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience in water, wastewater, chemical, or municipal markets, and familiarity with AWWA, WEF, and their state sections.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or similar credential.
  • Experience with lead retrieval apps, event management platforms, and intranet or employee communications tools.
  • Working design skills in Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud, plus basic photo and video capture.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YEAR ONE

  • The 2027 show calendar runs on time and on budget, starting with our first-quarter shows.
  • Show leads reach Salesforce within one day of each event.
  • Every major event has a post-show ROI report within two weeks.
  • Uconnect publishes on a consistent cadence, with engagement growing quarter over quarter.
  • A recommended 2028 event portfolio, backed by ROI data, is ready for budget planning by Q3.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
