Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Platform Management Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. You'll be responsible for architecting scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that support digital services and user-facing applications.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. This includes creating reusable infrastructure modules, managing environment provisioning, and ensuring consistent deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- Security and Compliance Implement robust security controls and ensure compliance with applicable cybersecurity frameworks and regulations. This involves configuring network security groups, managing identity and access management (IAM), implementing encryption, and conducting regular security assessments of cloud infrastructure.
- Monitoring and Observability Set up comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or third-party solutions. You'll be responsible for maintaining system health dashboards, performance metrics, and incident response procedures.
- DevOps Integration Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration using Kubernetes or Docker, and automated testing frameworks. Support application deployment strategies including blue-green deployments and canary releases.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Design and implement backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity procedures. This includes regular testing of recovery procedures and maintaining documentation for emergency scenarios.
Skillsets:
- Cloud Platforms Expertise Proficiency in major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP with relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect. Understanding of cloud-native services, pricing models, and best practices.
- Infrastructure Automation Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. Knowledge of configuration management tools and version control systems like Git.
- Containerisation and Orchestration Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container registry management. Understanding of microservices architecture and service mesh technologies.
- Cloud Networking and Security Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and DNS. Knowledge of security frameworks, encryption methods, identity management, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Scripting and Programming Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Basic understanding of application development concepts and API integration.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or cloud-native monitoring solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
- System Administration and Troubleshooting Experience with administration of Operating Systems like Linux and Windows.
- Network and Security Application Administration. Experience with administration of network applications like Firewall – e.g. Palo Alto, security applications like Endpoint protection - e.g. Trend Micro, CrowdStrike, Symantec and Active Directory - e.g. Windows AD, Azure AD, AWS Directory Services.
