About this role: As a Manager, Cyber Security, you will play a critical role in planning, executing and maintaining the USGA’s information security strategy. You will work closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders, security partners and USGA vendors to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of USGA information systems. This is a hands-on role with access to technology and systems to allow you to perform your job functions in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires a deep understanding of information security best practices, risk management, and the ability to identify, develop and implement effective security strategies.What you'll do: You will be hands on and own and coordinate security programs across governance, risk, vulnerability management, incident response, business continuity, compliance, and vendor oversight. Success in this role requires translating security findings into prioritized actions, measurable improvements, and clear guidance for technical and business stakeholders. Governance and Risk Management:
Enhance and maintain the information security roadmap, standards, policies, and procedures. Conduct risk assessments of information security controls and verify their effectiveness. On a weekly and monthly basis, capture and report information security metrics and associated risks to internal stakeholders. Oversee applicable compliance standards and ensure requirements are met. Lead information security projects by establishing priorities, communicating objectives, coordinating stakeholders, and managing work through completion.
Vulnerability Management and Penetration Testing:
Analyze vulnerability scan results, prioritize findings, and collaborate with technical teams to drive remediation. Manage the penetration testing program, coordinate testing activities, analyze results, and plan remediation.
Incident Detection and Response:
Perform incident detection and response activities, including analyzing, investigating, and escalating issues identified by the SOC team and supporting systems. Assist the response team with incident containment, recovery, and post-incident improvement activities. Conduct incident response tabletop exercises with internal and external stakeholders.
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans and coordinate updates with relevant stakeholders.
Security Awareness, Third-Party and Championship Technology Risk:
Provide guidance for cyber security awareness training activities. Partner with Procurement to conduct security due diligence for vendors and third parties. Support championship information technology initiatives to ensure onsite technology is implemented securely. Monitor security threat intelligence, industry developments, and emerging cybersecurity risks to assess potential impacts to the USGA and recommend appropriate actions.
Where you'll be: This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are required to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office community days. Employees can choose between Monday or Thursday as their third in-office day.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, engineering or related field required. 4+ years of professional experience in information security, including in a Security Analyst role Strong information systems and security analysis skills. Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams. Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and successfully execute project plans to achieve defined business objectives. Ability to design, implement, and continuously improve internal processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Builds productive working relationships and contributes effectively in a collaborative team environment. Strong written, verbal, and analytical communication skills, including the ability to evaluate information from multiple sources, identify the most important findings, and explain security risks and recommendations clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Knowledge of the golf and/or sports industry as well as non-profit business models is preferred. CISSP, CISM or related information security certification is a plus.
Level: Manager Job Location: Liberty Corner, NJ Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $140,000. This range represents what we reasonably expect to pay as starting base compensation for this role. Compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, and relevant certifications.
