  • Review student applications and assist in admissions decisions.
  • Manage program communications, including email communications with prospective students and parents.
  • Facilitate webinars and virtual meetings prior to program.
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and compiling program documents and publications, including the Student-Family Handbook, RCA Handbook, Course Catalog, Welcome Binder, and Admitted Students’ Guide.
  • Create and edit program marketing materials and social media posts.

Summer Session:

  • Help plan and provide training for Resident Community Advisors (RCAs) and serve as point of contact for RCAs before and during program.
  • Plan and execute program team-building activities during arrival weekend.
  • Manage program logistics such as roommate assignments and student groups.
  • Help plan and supervise program excursions and events, including arrival and departure days, weekly student workshops, and weekend field trips.
  • Assist with other Summer Session activities, including tabling events, as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Current UVA graduate or undergraduate (third or fourth year) student in good standing.
  • Experience working with complex programs through all stages of planning and implementation.
  • Experience working with adolescents in academic or extracurricular settings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Experience using Canvas in a non-student capacity (TA, instructor) is a plus.

Department: Office of Summer and Special Academic Programs.

Duration: Beginning in Spring Semester 2027 (January start date preferred) and continuing through August, 2027. Flexible, in-person availability during Summer Session is required.

Hours and Compensation:

Schedule: Spring Semester and Summer Session 1 (January-June 11, 2027): 10-20 hours/week, in person with some remote work

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
