As a Red Hat Ansible Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company's automated system configuration and deployment strategies using Red Hat's Ansible. You will work closely with system administrators, developers, and IT management to automate a wide range of tasks, from system setup and software deployment to network configuration and data management.

Responsibilities:

Automation Strategy Design & Implementation: Design and implement an automation strategy for the organization's IT systems using Ansible. This includes writing Ansible playbooks, setting up Ansible Tower, and integrating Ansible with other tools and platforms.

Configuration Management: Use Ansible to manage the configuration of servers, networks, and software across the organization. Ensure that all configurations meet the organization's standards and policies.

Software Deployment Automation: Use Ansible to automate the deployment of software across various environments. Work closely with development teams to integrate Ansible into the software development and deployment lifecycle.

System Troubleshooting & Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the Ansible environment and automated tasks. Provide technical support to IT staff and users as needed.

Security & Compliance: Ensure that the use of Ansible and the configurations it manages comply with the organization's security policies and any relevant regulations. Use Ansible to automate security-related tasks such as patch deployment and system hardening.

Documentation & Reporting: Document all Ansible configurations, playbooks, and procedures. Prepare regular reports on system performance, availability, and compliance.

Training & Mentoring: Train and mentor other IT staff in the use of Ansible and the principles of IT automation. Promote the use of automation across the organization.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation are highly desirable.

Experience: At least 5 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years of experience in managing Ansible environments.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Ansible and its components, including playbooks, roles, and Ansible Tower. Familiarity with Linux system administration, shell scripting, networking, and security. Experience with other configuration management or IT automation tools is a plus.

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements: Depending on the specific role and location, this may involve working in a data center environment and handling heavy equipment.

Other: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and to travel, as needed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
