The anticipated pay range of this role will be between $82,200-$102,700.

A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for managing the shipping schedule and all associated functions for Farmington Operations, responsible for executing the bundling of engineered to order product and shipping to ensure efficient and timely transportation services. The incumbent will oversee the organization and control of the Shipping, and Traffic operations. Through subordinate staff this person is responsible to use the most cost-efficient means of product receipt and delivery to and from internal and external customers/suppliers while meeting deadlines.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers
  • Supports the successful use of systems intended to support the operational, efficient and timely transportation services, including Transportation Management System

· Efficiently utilizes TMS capabilities such as MOJO and shipment process execution

  • Provide operational leadership for the business’s distribution operations to meet/exceed the business’s demanding customer fulfillment requirements and cost objectives
  • Accountable for efficient management of shipments, and paperwork associated with the movement, loading, and deliveries for all of Farmington Operations
  • Adhere to and follow established transportation policies, procedures, and objectives
  • Develop, maintain and analyze data related to matrix level of KPI’s to ensure sufficient team and carrier performance (SMQDC & Performance Boards)
  • Assist with investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints

· Manage the overall employee performance while ensuring a safe work area, appropriate staffing levels, corrective action records, performance management process and succession planning

· Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • Be available to accept a variety of duties, as time permits, ranging from special projects as directed
  • Coordination of domestic orders with shipping, marketing, and carriers for a timely delivery and to be cost effective
  • Coordination of customer service activities necessary to communicate the shipping schedule with customers
  • Assist with daily communication with customer service, sites and others, coordinating delivery appointments with carriers, to meet company deadlines
  • Assist with the coordination of all truckload shipments from the Intercompany locations & finishing service providers

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

· Bachelors with five (5) + years relevant experience or Associates Degree with seven (7)+ years relevant experience or nine (9) + years of relevant experience.

  • Five years of experience in a manufacturing/distribution setting in Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, or Customer Service

· Supervisory or Management experience preferred

  • Production control/supply chain management experience in manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of TMS and MRP/ERP Systems
  • Strong understanding of local, state, and federal transportation regulations
  • Advanced problem solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Change management experience with the ability to drive focus, urgency, and accountability
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with a focus on accuracy, follow through, and communication
  • Ability to coordinate logistics moves in a cost-effective and time critical manner utilizing technology available
  • Ability to analyze data in order to drive efficient operational impacts
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills exhibited under tight deadlines with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Positive, professional demeanor in all interaction with colleagues, carriers, customers and vendors
  • Knowledge and experience necessary to assist with all operational aspects of logistics process
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work with people in a professional and respectful manner to address issues in a constructive way

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain management

· TMS Software experience

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Incumbent may be asked to visit and work in manufacturing and shipping environments. When in these areas, incumbent will be required to wear any necessary PPE as required by site policy. Travel may be required up to 15% (domestic). The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
