Job Description:
Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a Mechanical Quality Inspector to join our team based in Mobile, AL.
The mechanical quality inspector is responsible for the planning execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production and flightline process with an emphasis on the aircraft mechanical, fuel, hydraulic, and flight control systems.

Your Working Environment:
On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges:
- Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation.
- Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, and final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements.
- Document the technical inspections performed in production orders and the relevant customer line based IT systems by inspection and complete other aircraft documents as well as prepare first article inspection reports.
- Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures(FTPs), and participate in Quality Survey requests.
- Compile all technical data of non-conformance in order to launch the NCMS-based quality discrepancy sheets for the professional assessment in accordance with the manufacturing engineering documentation.
- Attain skills to perform audits of Non-Conformance Rework Orders as part of the Material Review Board (MRB).
- Perform audits/reviews of workbooks to validate PV approval and process adherence.
- Track and maintain components during the Non Conformance process.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Boarding Pass:
- Quality Inspector Systems: A technician with a focus on Quality Inspection in system manufacturing in the aviation industry with a high school diploma.
- 5 years of relevant experience with an emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
- Previous experience in a mechanic or technician role is highly desirable
- Airline experience is desirable
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and tools used in the production line.
- Handling and use of inspection tools of the length measuring techniques (mechanical, optional, electrical).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Specifically, in English which is required operating in a multicultural and multifunctional environment.
Licensure/Certifications:
- A&P License (preferred)

- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
- Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
- Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
- Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
- Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
