The posting

Vaulted is a waste management company that removes carbon. We take organic waste that can pollute our environment above ground and safely inject it ultra deep underground—permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere while protecting local land, air, and water. Vaulted is based in Houston, San Francisco, and Kansas.

With a growing team of 70+ people across the country, Vaulted signed the second largest carbon removal offtake ever with Microsoft in July 2025 and is rapidly expanding to new sites.

Vaulted's proprietary technology builds on decades of expertise to deliver safe, durable carbon and waste management solutions now, at scale.

Position Summary

We're hiring a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Houston-based team, reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance. This is a core financial planning and reporting seat: you'll own the monthly reporting cycle, drive the annual budget and forecasting process, and lead business reviews with our operating and commercial teams. - Perform budget vs. actual and prior-period variance analysis, and explain the key drivers to leadership

- Develop and maintain the KPI reports and dashboards leadership uses to track operational and financial performance

Budgeting & Forecasting (FP&A)

- Serve as a key contributor in the annual budget process in partnership with department and site leaders, from assumptions through final approval

- Build and maintain rolling forecasts and cash forecasts across multiple entities

- Track operating expense, headcount, and capital spend against plan, and flag risks and opportunities early

- Maintain planning models and templates with strong version control and documentation

Business Reviews & Analysis

- Prepare and support monthly and quarterly business reviews with operations, commercial, and site leadership, translating results into clear takeaways and actions

- Build analyses for board materials, investor updates, and fundraising diligence

- Provide ad hoc analysis for leadership across commercial, operational, and strategic questions

Modeling & Lender Reporting Support

- Support site-level financial models, scenarios, and sensitivities used for site development decisions and investment approvals

- Support covenant calculations, compliance certificates, and lender reporting packages in coordination with accounting and legal

Qualifications

- 2-5 years of transferable experience in financial reporting and analysis.

- Bachelor's degree with coursework in both finance and accounting. (include GPA in application)

- Advanced Excel proficiency: comfortable building and auditing three-statement and project models from scratch

- Working understanding of debt documentation concepts (covenants, waterfalls, reserve accounts) or demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines independently

- Located in Houston, TX or willing to relocate

Nice to Have

- Experience in infrastructure, project finance, energy, or a related asset-heavy sector (investment banking, project developer, infrastructure fund, lender, or similar) Exposure to infrastructure tax credit monetization

- Experience with multi-entity structures and consolidation

- Familiarity with carbon markets, waste industry economics, or environmental commodities

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
