"Be Part of Our Success Story as We Expand and Evolve"
Purpose: Execute production-sourcing strategies within the approved commodity direction, focusing on engineering changes, cost competitiveness, lifecycle and end-of-life requirements, capacity constraints, supplier sustainability and approved dual-source implementation. Manage production RFQs, commercial evaluations, negotiations and sourcing recommendations to deliver timely, commercially competitive and supply-resilient outcomes.
The role drives cost reduction, VA/VE, lifecycle-risk mitigation and implementation of approved supplier-allocation strategies. Where necessary, the role works with NPI & Program Strategic Sourcing to clarify sourcing history, technical requirements, supplier commitments and outstanding programme risks, while retaining accountability for subsequent production-sourcing and commercial actions. At Senior level, the position independently manages complex sourcing work packages, leads negotiations within delegated authority, provides fact-based sourcing recommendations and guides Procurement Officers.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Translate engineering changes and production requirements into sourcing plans that address commercial, technical, quality, capacity, lead-time, inventory and supply-continuity considerations.
- Run production RFQs, conduct bid analyses, lead negotiations within delegated authority and prepare fact-based sourcing recommendations.
- Maintain complete, competitive and traceable sourcing records, ensuring recommendations are aligned with technical, quality, capacity, cost, manufacturability and risk requirements.
- Coordinate production- and FAI-related changes, including cut-in and cut-out timing, supplier readiness, material availability and inventory impacts.
- Support price control, cost reduction, VA/VE and should-cost initiatives to improve commercial competitiveness while maintaining quality, delivery and technical requirements.
- Execute sourcing within the supplier allocation and commodity strategy approved by the Manager, Commodity Business Management, escalating exceptions and material trade-offs for decision.
- Work with Supplier Business Management to close supplier-performance actions, while retaining accountability for the related production-sourcing and commercial actions.
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Engineering, Quality, Planning, Materials Management, Operations and other relevant stakeholders, confirm accountable owners and track agreed actions through effective closure.
- Manage lifecycle and end-of-life sourcing requirements, including approved dual-source work packages, supplier transitions, last-time-buy considerations and continuity actions.
- Prioritise threats to production or customer commitments and drive credible sourcing and supplier recovery plans through to closure.
- Maintain visible cost, capacity, lead-time and supply-continuity risk-mitigation plans, including accountable owners, due dates, contingency actions, residual exposure and escalation triggers.
- Use agreed KPIs and trend analysis to identify sourcing and supplier-performance gaps, assign recovery actions and verify sustained improvement.
- Maintain clear decision rights, current sourcing and commercial records, measurable actions and timely escalation of unresolved issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive procurement and sourcing experience, including demonstrated leadership in commodity strategy, supplier development, negotiation, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or equivalent analytics tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Strong understanding of commercial terms, contract administration, and procurement best practices.
- Good knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
- Experience in semiconductor, precision engineering, or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Baan or Infor LN.
- Experience in supplier qualification, audits, performance management, and supplier development programs.
- Demonstrated track record in driving cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and supply continuity.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance operational requirements and business objectives.
